Birth certificate is just one doc. It is used for every other doc as well. Then we are those docs treated as obsolete.

If that’s how it was declared back then doesn’t make it right. Maybe we need to revise things. Times have changed.
@_pallavighosh Agreed. However in order to gain a passport, the citizens should provide all necessary documents proving their residency and other details. Followed by a police verification thus the passport can be considered as a valid document.
@Javedakhtarjadu In all foreign countries, it is treated as a citizenship document. That’s what makes you a citizen. If you can’t get that, you basically don’t have brought docs to provide.
