Comedian Deniz Göktaş was recently detained at the airport upon returning to Turkey due to jokes he made during his stand-up special, "Ölü Deniz." The authorities launched an investigation against him, citing accusations of insulting religious values and the President through his comedic routine. He is now facing serious legal trouble simply for performing stand-up comedy. It is deeply concerning and frankly extreme that humor and satirical expression can be used as grounds for criminal detention. Punishing jokes in this manner is a massive overreaction that severely undermines basic freedom of speech.

همه چیز تمرین کردنیه. شما ممکنه با مدرک علوم اجتماعی وارد سیاست بشی این معنایی این نیست که شما تو دانشگاه سیاست یادگرفتی. ولی با ادامه در کار سیاست و تجربه از هر رشته ای میشه سیاستمدار شد. نمونش رو در امریکا هم پیدا میکنید. حزب کمونیست چین اکثر اعضای اصلیش مدرک علوم سخت دارن. این در دفاع از حزب کمونیست نیست. در ضمن علوم اجتماعی از بسیاری جهات سخت هست علم به حسابشون اورد. مشکل اصلی در قبل انقلاب این جذاب بودن افکار کمونیستی بود و نزدیکی زیادی هم با ایدیولوژی شیعه داشت. در کل سواد دانشگاهی باعث درک مسایل سیاسی اجتماعی و اقتصادی نمیشه.
