@2024dion There’s a smaller one in Shoal Creek (near Liberty) called the Villages. There’s a major one being planned near Liberty North by the developer that did New Longview. Most Kansas Citians generally like their space.

@AustinCEckert That started back in the 90s when the back side text on the sign was right side up. Years later they flipped it upside down, but the tradition was too entrenched.
I also liked when the PA Announcer would say Gatorade, is it in you? And the student section would shout No!
@reallyoptimized@texasrunnerDFW It’s been a while since I saw the stat but society is less mobile today than decades ago even though it should be easier than ever to relocate and find work (with the availability of remote work). I know people that have moved to KC and kept their jobs from larger cities.
It just feels like they’re trying to take credit for doing something everyone else was already doing. But maybe they had teams trying to abuse it again this year because of “tradition” and they liked it. I mean it would be pretty nice to have a “bye” week in November when your team is getting beat up
@Nastyhogninja The other factor that made it tough is not a lot of space around the stadium to expand. We’ll see what they come up with if Fitz stays as coach. He’s starting to unlock some dollars.
@2024dion I don’t know, we’ve historically averaged about 16k/yr. I’d say Covid made it artificially low. Even Denver was below KC one of the covid years. If we drop to 100k/decade, that’s a big drop from where we’ve been and for sure going the wrong way.
@2024dion That’s a 200k/decade pace (20k/yr). Those are 3 of the best years we’ve had since 2000. I think 24k is the best year we’ve ever had since I went back and looked through the 1960s.
@MarkJEngleson@2024dion While it certainly can get hot, it’s not that bad. If you throw out 2011-12 (which were bad), it only hit 100 degrees, 37 days since 2001. 8 years in the past 25, it didn’t hit 100 once.
@BlueeyesBp35645@Beganovic2026 Kansas only did it on pass through entities. Everyone else still had full income tax. Isn’t Missouri considering going to zero for all tax payers? With all the Missourians working in Kansas, there will be a huge incentive to take jobs back in Missouri.
