You peddled untruths at your press briefing today. It is true that the former Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo, tendered her resignation in September last year.

What is not true, however, is your claim that her resignation was accepted last year. It is a lie.

Is it not true that the Controller and Accountants General Department continues to pay the former Chief Justice her monthly allowances till date?

How can someone you claim left the Council of State as far back as September 2025 be receiving her allowances from October to date?

Let me also emphasize that even those at the Council of State knew nothing about her so-called resignation till yesterday when Asaase Radio broke the news.

Sophia Akuffo gets validated every month even after her claimed resignation way back September last year.

What is also an incontrovertible fact is that, you people didn’t want the former Chief Justice to leave office officially till Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, the current Chief Justice, goes on retirement so that he would take over from Sophia Akuffo.

You simply lied at the press briefing today. The fact that you people kept her so-called resignation in September 2025 a secret speaks volumes about the sinister motives behind the whole thing. Stop lying ooo tom, Felix!
