I’m pleased to announce the release of a new In the Library episode today with SBC President and Senior Pastor of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Clint Pressley (@pastorclint). We discuss preaching, denominational issues, pastoral ministry, and more.

“You’re not gonna serve whole people. You’re gonna serve broken people.”
In chapel, Clint Pressley, President of the Southern Baptist Convention, preached from John 4 and pointed us to the deep spiritual thirst that marks every human life. The Samaritan woman stands as a picture of the people we are called to serve, searching for satisfaction and coming up empty.
Jesus meets people there. He offers living water that truly satisfies and calls us to do the same.
I am glad to support HB 570 and SB 738, two bills in the Tennessee legislature that would protect every preborn child in Tennessee from abortion by providing preborn children with equal protection of the laws. By protecting the lives of preborn children with the same laws that protect people who are born, we are simply loving our neighbors in the womb as ourselves.
Tennessee now has the opportunity to set an example of how states can protect the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death. I am urging the Tennessee legislature to move these bills forward this legislative session. It’s both pro-life and consistent!
Lot of silliness floating around about the Bible and Nicaea. Unfortunately @RealAdamAllred repeats a lot of that here. But I think we should all take Adam’s advice when he says that we should “be honest with ourselves and start listening to the truth that is behind it, and if you doubt me, do your own research.” Hopefully this is an encouragement for Adam to take his own advice in this particular topic.
I'm speechless. God bless my Christian brother, @charliekirk11. What a champion for Christ and truth he was. May his legacy live as he rests in Christ.
The canon of Scripture was not the result of a power grab. It was recognized by believers across the ancient world long before church councils affirmed it.
If you are at #SBC25 and want to see the Law Amendment passed, here is what you need to do to help make it happen:
-Juan Sanchez will move the adoption of the Law/Sanchez Amendment at first introduction of new motions (9:08am, Tue).
-The Committee on Order of Business (COB) will issue its first report that afternoon around 3:50pm. It is crucial that amendment supporters be there for that report.
-During that report, there will be a vote to suspend the standing rule requiring an automatic referral to the EC. The vote to suspend the standing rule is not up for debate and only takes a simple majority to pass. If the vote to suspend the rule fails, there will be no vote on the amendment at this convention. It’s crucial that amendment supporters be in the room for that vote.
-Spread the word to be in the room before 3:50pm for the report from the COB. Vote “yes” on suspending the standing rule.
-If we can get that rule suspended, the COB will announce a time for debate on the actual amendment.

My understanding is that our Credentials Committee deemed a church in friendly cooperation that has a female teaching pastor. The committee needs to take another look at this one. Our statement of faith is clear about qualifications for a pastor.
God has put good complementary callings on the lives of men and women. Among those, God calls biblically qualified men to teach and lead the church. Let us embrace God’s good design and not treat it as a glass ceiling to be broken through.
Hey @KamalaHarris and @realDonaldTrump , I appreciate all 929 of the texts you both have sent me reminding me to vote. I voted early, so you can stop sending those reminders now. Thanks!
