So fossil fuel financers "@jpmorgan warns of need for ‘reality check’ on phasing out fossil fuels"
How's this for a reality check:

Important insights from our speakers on the need for a clear strategy that drives green investment into the UK as international competition continues to grow.
Over and over again, I hear the President and Members of Congress express deep concern about Netanyahu and the humanitarian disaster in Gaza that he has caused.
Then why are they supporting giving Netanyahu another $10 billion to continue his war against the Palestinian people?
Yepo a low level criminal no doubt taking eggs 4 others & getting a few quid in return gets jail. Compare with many cases involving highly experienced prof gamekeepers committing far more serious offences, using firearms & poison, & they get sus sentence - go figure!!
For decades it has been clear that the simplest no regrets step for cutting emissions is energy efficiency. It is also the policy that can most quickly help hard pressed people on low incomes. I find, therefore, this to be a very surprising decision. https://t.co/8JwgupQzBL
If people in secure, rich world countries such as Britain and Italy ‘shouldn’t have to’ co-exist with wildlife such as bears or wolves, why should any people anywhere? Should we just eliminate all large wildlife from the Earth altogether? https://t.co/RlFT42CL0Y
The Mediterranean Sea is heading into uncharted territory. The recent powerful “heat dome” over southern Europe has led to an extremely rapid warming of the waters in the western part of the bassin, with SSTs now exceeding 30°C off the coast of southern Italy.
A short thread.
This trawling is happening regularly in Orkney coastal waters, including Marine Protected Areas. Please raise awareness of this environmental hooliganism by sharing this far and wide in your twitter feeds. Local communities depend on healthy habitats for their livelihoods.
This just can’t be happening 😩😩😩

@BenGoldsmith@JLewisStempel I'm not sure €38m in anti wolf measures and compensation counts as 'sloshing out' on a national scale. I wouldn't be surprised if wolf-boosted tourism generated that as a surplus in a month. Also 15k sheep a year sounds like a lot but isn't that around a 0.2% mortality rate?
Can anyone suggest why @UKLabour has literally nothing to say on nature recovery in Britain? Poll after poll shows that the British public for the first time are beginning to grasp how appallingly nature-depleted our country has become. As our wildlife continues to plummet, the clamour from the public for restoration grows louder and louder. Everyone adored #WildIsles. Pollution of our rivers was a major factor in the recent local elections. The Green Party is on a roll. Why doesn’t the Labour Party see the opportunity? Labour’s currently ill-defined farming and nature policies look like something out of the 1980s. I just don’t get it. A race to the top between the big political parties on nature is in everyone’s interests. Write to your MP!
So headage payments are back. If you attend a food bank, struggle with your mortgage or electricity you will be glad to hear that your taxes will pay farmers to keep every sheep they have. The bleating hordes will do immense ecological harm. You will pay. https://t.co/WzjW6MEnpJ
Krill is the keystone species of the Southern Ocean, now " harvested" in huge amounts. The oceanic web of life is ripped apart for short term profit. 💀
