And there you have it: Israel's strategy encapsulated. Palestinians are condemned when they do not accept Israel's right to exist. Israel's government is given a free pass for rejecting the same right for Palestine.

The British media and political class have started normalising Trump and his isolationist running mate J.D. Vance, thinking they might win in November. In reality this ticket poses a profound threat to our security, economy and Rule of Law. I hope we are planning accordingly.
Just because Gaza is increasingly out of the headlines, please don’t underestimate the scale of civilian deaths and casualties inflicted every day by Israeli forces. Reported without favour or bias by the remarkable men and women of @MSF
This time last year, children in #Gaza were enjoying games, sports & arts at the @UNRWA summer games.
This year, they are sifting through the rubble & grieving their loved ones with the weight of their trauma.
The war robbed the children of Gaza of their childhood.
#CeasefireNOW to bring back some light for a different future
🧵Govt at risk of £100 million loss
The UK government risks losing over £100 million of taxpayer money to the Hales family, who were awarded global Covid contracts worth more than £2.5 billion. This latest story focuses on their terminated UK contract. #UKGov#CovidContracts
Satellite images show that Israeli army erased completely huge Palestinian neighborhoods along the borders between
Gaza abd Egypt destroying most of Rafah in the process.
Liz Truss - awarded a six-figure prime ministerial pension at the age of 46 for just 49 days' work - wants to raise the pension age to 80. For other people, that is.
Nigel Farage received 12% of TV/press coverage in the election. @TheGreenParty (with 4 seats to Reform’s 5) didn’t even make top 20. Great research from @lboroCRCC shows Greens & smaller parties were especially marginalised by a press mesmerised by Farage’s anti-migrant noise
New Israel army order today to evacuate Gaza City jeopardises the plan to re-open Al Ahli Hospital. These are confusion tactics and everyone is terrified.
Trump's latest claim, that all the civil cases he's embroiled in are part of a political conspiracy, is complete hogwash. He initiated a suit against us in London last year, lost, had his appeal request rejected and costs awarded against him. Four months on, he has yet to pay up.
Worth noting that @RobertJenrick was a member of the government which defunded every part of the criminal justice system, including prisons, and ignored years of warnings that the prisons were close to overflowing.
Any criminals “let off” have been let off by his government.
“Every man between the ages of 16 and 50 is suspected of being a terrorist.”
“It’s permissible to shoot everyone, a young girl, and old women.”
IDF soldiers’ testimonies. What madness is this? Silence is complicity.

These are heartbreaking photos of Al Ahli Arab Hospital hastily evacuated under Israeli army orders. Our chapel, repurposed as a ward, now empty and a conventional ward both show signs of seriously sick/injured people rushed away in fear. Appalling. (pics:DawoudAbo Alkas)
Hospitals must be protected under international humanitarian law.
I stand with my brother Archbishop Hosam Naoum in protesting the closure and evacuation of the Anglican-run Al Ahli hospital in Gaza in the strongest possible terms. And I condemn the attack on an ambulance en route to the hospital.
In the face of intense Israeli bombardment, this closure puts injured and sick people in even greater danger.
I join Archbishop Hosam’s appeal to the Israel Defence Forces to allow the hospital to continue its sacred and courageous work of caring for people in desperate need.
To relieve the immense suffering in the Holy Land, I continue to pray and call for a ceasefire, the release of hostages, and for unfettered aid for the people of Gaza.
Just met virtually many of my NRC colleagues in Gaza. They witness death and destruction among the civilians every week. We have received no new supplies since May 3. Our staff have to flee the bombardment again and again. Still they heroically keep working in and for Gaza.
Nine months on, Israel still doesn’t allow foreign journalists independent access to #Gaza. The Foreign Press Association in Israel says ‘It raises questions about what Israel doesn’t want us to see.’ Indeed it does.

Another day.
Another month.
Another school hit.
Once again, @UNRWA school hit by the Israeli Forces.
The school, in the Middle Areas, was home to nearly 2,000 internally displaced, dozens of casualties were reported.
Since the war began, nine months ago today:
- More than half (or 190) of @UNRWA facilities have been hit, some multiple times, some directly.
- As a result, 520 people were killed and nearly 1,600 were injured while seeking some safety. Too many were women and children.
A re-occurring claim (among others) from Israel is that our facilities are being used by Palestinian armed groups.
These are claims that I take very seriously . It is exactly why I have repeatedly called for independent investigations to ascertain the facts & identify those responsible for attacks on UN premises or their misuse.
Those responsible must be held accountable for violating international law.
Nine months on this brutal war, I call once again for a #ceasefire under which people in Gaza and Israel would finally get respite & protection + all hostages would be immediately released.
The longer this war goes on, the deeper the rift will become, & the more suffering people will endure.
Enough is enough.

I have tried in many different ways/tweets these last 8 years to warn of the mess UK was going to find itself in if & when it ever gets Brexit fully "done" (its choice, not the EU "punishing" UK) ..I am going to try again with a real effort not to use any tech/logistics jargon 😉
