DEAL, DRDO organized “StartDef 2025”, a One day Workshop on “Military Wireless and Space Communication” with a vision to explore collaboration with Startups to acquire emerging and futuristic communication technologies in line with the Govt of India policy to promote Startups

Dr BK Das, DS & DG (ECS) inaugurated the workshop in the presence of Sh LC Mangal, DS & DG (TM), Sh Manoj Kumar Dhaka, OS & Director DEAL and Sh Krishna Teja, COO & Co-Founder M/s Dhruva Space.

Over 200 participants including 84 Entrepreneurs from 38 Startups, delegates from various DRDO labs and Academia have participated in the event. The workshop provided a platform for interaction between Scientists and Young entrepreneurs of various Startups to align DRDO’s technology roadmap with global trends in the field of Wireless Military and Space Communication. It also gave an opportunity to exchange problem statements and explore state-of-the-art technologies developed by various Startups. An exhibition from Startups was also inaugurated as part of the event which gave insight into the new upcoming technologies through live demonstrations.

This workshop reaffirms DRDO’s commitment to harness the transformative potential of Startups in accelerating the march towards indigenous defence communication and electronic systems for our Armed Forces.

The 1st meeting of Mission Governing Board (MGB) of National Quantum Mission (NQM) was held under the chairmanship of Dr. @AjaiChowdhry, Founder @hcltech. Implementation strategy of the Mission & crucial timelines were finalised.

NQM approved by the Union Cabinet on 19th April 2023 for implementation by @IndiaDST for a period of eight years for seeding , nurturing & scaling scientific and industrial R&D and creating a vibrant & innovative ecosystem in Quantum Technology (QT), is expected to setup four mission hubs in Quantum Computing, Quantum Communication, Quantum Sensing & Metrology and Quantum Materials & Devices, which will essentially be consortia of academia, R&D labs, and industry. The Call for Proposals will be released on 20th January.
