Since our SBC meeting begins in a matter of days, I am praying for a unified spirit among the messengers. Let us handle the business in a Christlike way and celebrate what God is doing in Great Commission ministries.
I am praying today for discouraged ministers who are seeking to be faithful to the Lord during difficult times. For those of us who have been in the ministry for years or decades, we know about those feelings. Pray for these servants of our Lord.
Today my prayer focus is on the compassionate people who are caregivers for their loved ones. Often overlooked, they are involved in a ministry of mercy to those who are at vulnerable points of life. We have much to learn from them.
I am praying today for parents and grandparents who are concerned about a prodigal teenager or grown child. These people have a pain which is indescribable but also a hope to which they cling. May God give them the comfort of His presence.
I am praying today for those who are grieving. Sometimes grief brings the past too close and makes the future feel too far away. Grief is the strangest of experiences. It leaves a Grand Canyon-sized hole in your heart. Jesus is the only One to lead us through it.
My prayer focus today is centered upon those men of God preparing to preach Godβs Word tomorrow and every Sunday. The world may think it is foolishness, but preaching is a high calling of God. May we be faithful to it!
I am praying today for Christian couples who have become foster parents to children who need a loving home. This is a missionary calling, and we need to affirm it as such.
I am praying specifically today for churches facing conflict. May the Lord give guidance and wisdom to the leadership and the entire church family. We need to be clearly focused on the Great Commission.
My prayer focus today is the Yellow Shirt Army of state convention disaster relief volunteers across the SBC. They are ready when the call comes. Grateful for Mark Wakefield leading Alabama Baptists in this Kingdom ministry.
The study of generations has been popular for some time now. Learning more about each generation helps us reach people for Christ. I am reminded of Psalm 145:4: βOne generation will commend your works to another.β
