@SVG__Collection Got this when it came out on cassette, I was 15. I used to carry around one of the tapes in my jacket/coat, so that I was in someoneโs car I could play it and extol the virtues of his music to anyone in earshot lol! I didnโt have a Walkman.
@dovesmusicblog First saw an acoustic performance of Caught by the River on Canadian TV and was blown away. Bought the record and then blown away on just how perfect this record is. Musically, sonically, lyrically this record is unmatched. This is my go-to record. I never tire of it.
@SalvadorDafti For me, this is greatest live album ever. Like you and others have said, itโs also the finest document of what RโnโR is all about. Arrogance, bravado, sexual tension, pure abandon, soul - this album is just everything! JLL works the crowd like a preacher.
Bo Diddley - Road Runner
Big Bad Bo tearing it up at the London Rock and Roll Show for a 35,000 crowd made up of bopping Teddy Boys, Rockers and a whole lot of Brylcreem.
Wembley Stadium. 1972.
@SalvadorDafti I Am I Be is one of the greatest songs ever written. The arrangement, the production, the use of the samples, Posโs and Daveโs verses are top tier. Note that I didnโt just say Hip Hop songs, itโs up there with any song thatโs been composed.
@historyrock_ No Abbey Road? No Dark Side. As I see it, DS is an extrapolation of AR to the nth degree. DS was recorded in the same studio, using many of the same instruments, using the same engineers and staff from AR. DS filled the void of the Beatles breaking up, but itโs not better.
@namshine @TheAgenda @tvo My son recently began working for Zoomer but didnโt understand why heโs so important (aside from being the big boss). I had to break it down for him. The New Music, CityLimits, Much, TV Frames, CityPulse, The Originals. My worldview is richer cos of his legacy. Everyoneโs is.
