It might be tempting to spin from the hip controller, but for a physically accurate spin the body would rotate around its center of gravity (COG) - which for someone curled up actually places it outside the body and roughly in the center of the curled 'ball'

One of the most fun parts of animating for me is pushing the poses on anim layers, beyond what I had initially imagined would look good. Iteration is key! #animtip
Always important to remember that a lot of these robots are "faking" the humanlike motions -- its a property of how they're trained not an inherent property of the hardware. They're actually capable of way weirder stuff and way faster motions.
