I'm working on getting a sci-fi novel published. I've decided to do this X thing and try attracting a following. I'll occasionally post randomly selected excerpts from the manuscript and engage readers in the comments.
A traveler observes a dead world:
"These ancient people had loved to ply their oceans before their sun had murdered the world. Countless seafaring ships littered the lower elevations. The boats sailed still, albeit imperceptibly, their centuries-long journeys occasionally lifting their rusted hulks to the wind-beaten surface. Here the ships tarried for a decade or two, their empty, noble prows thrust at the sun like accusatory fingers."
The patent for insulin was sold for $1 so it would be available to all.
Insulin in the United States is now the 6th most expensive liquid in the world.
That is the power of Big Pharma's greed when it goes unchallenged. NOW is the time that we finally take them on.
Oregon and California are burning. Greece is burning. The entire planet is experiencing a major drought. Yet, as they continue to defend the fossil fuel industry, many of my Republican colleagues deny the reality of climate change.
Pathetic.
