instead of watching 2 hours of Netflix tonight, watch this Stanford lecture
it's the clearest explanation I've seen of how ChatGPT and Claude actually work
useful whether you've never touched AI in your life or have been using it every day for the past year
I took the key ideas and turned them into a practical guide on how to actually get 100% out of Claude
find it below
satya is in a league of his own. he actually says coherent, bold, strategically sharp things while sundar by stark contrast mostly meanders in corporate safe platitudes. satya takes real bets (openai, activision, cloud push) & owns the narrative, while sundar always feels like he’s nervously managing downside all while acting like google’s hr-approved caretaker sleepwalking through the most pivotal era of our lifetime.
it’s rare for a non-founder ceo to have this level of conviction & public presence without feeling like a generic suit. most ceos in his position would just coast on momentum, but he keeps making asymmetric moves that actually change the game.
i guess the real difference here is satya acts like a leader, sundar acts like a manager. this entire conversation is worth your time.
If you want to improve your business writing, read The Economist regularly for two years. Don't miss an issue.
You will become more logical and structured in your thinking, and you will regain the attention span that social media stole from you.
Your capacity to consume large quantities of information and to analyze that data will grow.
I recommend The Economist if you're training young Lawyers or Consultants.
If you're in the Tech or Creative space, in addition, I recommend Fast Company. For Finance, add Fortune Magazine.
Blogs are fine. But you need the discipline of reading very long articles. A magazine also has different sections. It forces you to read things you would ordinarily not be interested in; thereby broadening your knowledge base.
The thing is, if you cannot read seemingly boring things and prefer to only do things that feel good, your competence may be impacted.
Media is about wiring. You have no original thoughts. You just think you do. Everything you consume shapes you.
Social media, TV, music, books and gaming have turned you into this person that you are. They're not purely entertainment. They've moulded your thoughts, desires, ideologies and reasoning. You must rewire your brain by taking a break from what you're used to and consuming other things.
For a week, take a fast from the usual tech-based media you consume, and read a physical book instead. Go out to lunch with someone and leave your phone in your bag or car.
Assess the state of your emotions and thinking after a week. You may be surprised.
Have been saying this for a while but the next generation of capital allocators will need to focus on media just as much as investing
If you are in the VC/PE space, having an audience gets you access to:
> companies and CEOs that you wouldn’t otherwise meet
> proprietary funding rounds and capital raises
> co-investors who can underwrite deals alongside you and make introductions to new founders
> potential to fundraise directly from your audience (either through crowdfunding or they can become LPs in a fund)
> key employees and industry experts that can come work for or with you
The opportunity cost of not having an audience is simply too high in a world where companies are staying private for longer

Do not be a victim, ever. Victimhood is a losing mindset. Self-determination requires focusing on what you can control and driving forward. #PlayNiceButWin
We will be publishing our deep dive on India's economy next week, covering everything from how India's education system works to how the country's infrastructure development varies across different regions.
Like our previous deep dives, we will build from the ground up, assuming no prior knowledge.
Here’s what we’ll cover:
What is the current state of India's economy? How does it rank globally in terms of GDP, growth rate, and other macroeconomic indicators? What are the key sectors driving India's economy?
