@jdotb They did not say a single time that they wanted dungeon xp and quest xp to be similar. They said they want you to still feel good about running a dungeon, and clearly stated they don’t want it to be the optimal method of leveling. That is not the same thing as similar xp rates.
@Real_Musashi You’re saying all of this as though you can’t go dungeon spam anyway. I feel like boiling it down to simply jealousy is actually delusion.
No one is saying you can’t play the game how you want to, but this isn’t an MMO where everything will be viable.
@CameronIrock@Mvqdh This is just untrue. The devs even said in the most recent podcast that they don’t want people just dungeon spamming. They want to give players reasons to be in the world. Dungeons still won’t give competitive xp rates, even with the changes.
@tiffplzz And you absolutely can do that regardless of xp. If you enjoy playing that role that much, then you’d be able to do it without needing competitive xp gains. Dungeons for gear, questing/world content for consistent xp. It’s in essence what Classic has always really done.
@CameronIrock@Mvqdh I definitely think classes should have their roles, but should that dictate your method of getting to 60? I don’t think so. I absolutely agree that grinding dungeons is an integral part of classic, but for gear, not xp. I’m just now sure how you consider this a “penalty”.
@restore47@Mvqdh You don’t only run deadmines once if you’re actually wanting to play the game. Most people will replay it on alts as well. Classic never even gave that much xp for completing it over and over anyway. Especially with the lack of scaling, you’d eventually not run it ever again.
@CameronIrock@Mvqdh I don’t make the game, I’m simply stating functionality of the classic experience. I’m sorry that the game isn’t for you, but I don’t think the intent should ever be to make the game for everyone.
@AlphaThePrimal@faelynsgrove There’s intentionality with the pacing of Classic leveling/questing. Yes indeed questing at this point does garner more xp than dungeon spamming. That’s sort of beside the point though, because the world content is the intent. Dungeons are supplementary/serve a different purpose.
@CameronIrock@Mvqdh They already do essentially that in retail. There’s a reason why they are separate games. WoWF is not intended to be a smooth experience for everyone all the way through. Dungeons will always and should always be for obtaining better gear, not for competitive xp rates.
@SolastroGaming Disagree. If you’re able to separate ideas effectively, you don’t necessarily support anything. I can agree with certain things he says and also know where to draw lines for myself. I have full autonomy of how I operate, and am able to have my own thoughts no matter what he says.
@Gingitv The balance is using dungeons as a means for better gear + supplemental xp, and then using questing as a means for consistent xp. Providing comparable/competitive xp from dungeons dilutes that push and pull.
@2b39ac4a27b6469@Erradicgaming I don’t refute that, but I think that if I’m leveling in Forever and 2-3 mobs can kill me if I don’t use mitigation, then it’s already substantially more dangerous than Retail. In Retail you can pull entire dungeons with no preparation, same with world mobs for questing.
@2b39ac4a27b6469@Erradicgaming You’re correct in that PvE in Classic isn’t comparable to Retail in difficulty, but that doesn’t make it “animal crossing”. I think k the issue I’m taking is the perception that it’s a “cozy” game when it’s world is more dangerous than Retail.
@SCopkur94628@short_acorn@Fearthecow93@Typerighting sorry - i misread, so i'm revising. i feel like doing some paperwork in a detention center is a small price to pay to ensure the safety of our people. it might be undeserved, but it might also just be a necessity. it's much better than just no border control.
