I was honoured to have been elected an officer on @APPGDVA yesterday. It's a vital group that has an important role to play in our mission to halve VAWG within a decade.

Stockport is the greatest place to live in Britain, I met with the Prime Minister to make the case for extending Metrolink tram, investing in Stepping Hill hospital and Reddish Baths.
Labour in Government will improve living standards for the people of Stockport & Britain.
In my view, of all the speakers here today at the very valuable NS Regional Development Conference, the greatest was the 91 year old Lord Michael Heseltine.
For sheer clarity of thought, knowledge and experience, he packs quite a punch.

Good to hear @JimfromOldham at New Statesman conference #NSRegDev progress to get multi-years settlements for mayors, combined authorities & local Govt. I asked him how framework across Whitehall & Govt departments is going ahead - especially for next steps #Lancashire
Last night, as I was returning to my flat in London, I was attacked and mugged by a group of individuals.
Luckily, I have no injuries and I am ok. Unfortunately, they just took my phone so I’m without one for the foreseeable future.
I want to thank the @metpoliceuk for their swift response and support. The officers who assisted me went above and beyond. They are a remarkable credit to the force.
If you need to reach me, please contact my office on 01253 532 401. Thank you.
Great to be in Manchester today at stimulating NS Regional Conference @NSLiveEvents #NSRegDev & timely with #SkillsEngland @IFAteched bill going thru Parliament .We @right2_learn welcome this agenda & sessions about devolution & growth via regional skills
Proud to announce that care leavers across the Liverpool City Region will now receive free travel passes, opening up a world of opportunities for young people who need it the most.
This is about more than just getting from A to B—it's about fairness and breaking down barriers.
For too long, care leavers have been disadvantaged, often struggling to access jobs, education, and the social networks that many of us take for granted.
By giving them the freedom to move around our region, we’re investing in their futures and showing that nobody should be left behind.
From half-price travel for apprentices to our £2 cap on bus fares, we’re committed to making sure transport works for those who need it most.
Every young person in our region deserves the chance to thrive, and this is another step toward making that happen.

I was pleased to launch our #MakingSkillsWork report with @Lifelong_Ed & @res_publica. A serious report for serious times that can set the next steps for a tertiary system that delivers for all. This correlates well with the first report from DfE on next steps for #SkillsEngland.
Great to see so much support for #Skills at #Lab24 with the return of #SkillsHub in association with @CitadelComms. Very proud of the @cityandguilds team and partners who, once again, put on a successful show for #skills and its central role in driving productivity and growth.
It was great to speak on the @right2_learn panel with @LordBlunkett and colleagues and contribute to the @WorkFoundation roundtable on Pathways to Work. I enjoyed the discussions in the #SkillsHub and thank everyone who helped keep skills high on the agenda.
