I held a call with @delcyrodriguezv following the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela.

I conveyed the EU's full solidarity with the Venezuelan people and our deepest condolences to the families of those who lost loved ones.

The EU has already mobilised €5 million in emergency assistance for affected communities.

We have activated the European Civil Protection Mechanism, with several Member States rapidly deploying search and rescue teams, firefighters and medical personnel.

The EU’s Copernicus satellite system is supporting emergency responders by helping to map the damage and target assistance where it is needed most.

Europe stands with Venezuela in this hour of need.

After 25 years of negotiations, the EU–Mercosur Agreement has been signed. It is the EU’s largest free trade deal, sending a strong signal for collaboration and against protectionism. Mercosur countries remain key partners for both Finland and the EU.
