@baxirahul We don’t know each other - but I enjoy your work. Your picture of the Saudades bungalow brought back high school memories - it was where I used to learn French. Thanks for sharing.
Happiness is plummeting.
The world is more connected yet more disconnected than ever
I’ve got a theory on why….
We used to have more community. We traded church for Mr. Beast.
Sunday Sermons for Live Streams.
Don't you agree?
And here's what I think happens next....
A counterwave.
A fierce hunger for real-world connections.
Tech that connects us on a screen will pivot to push us offline.
And more physical experiences with no phones allowed.
When I was growing up, there was no smoking sections.
When our kids grow up, maybe they'll be no phones sections.
And apps that reward us for being less on it
Apps that have opening hours and closed hours. "Come back tomorrow".
Our human wiring is for tribes, not just Twitch.
We’re built for community centers, not just comment sections.
From a business perspective, if you can tap into this desire for community....
There are thousands of community business to be built. We've only scratched the surface.
The opportunity is endless.
And I think the more connected to community we enable people to be.
That's when happiness goes up instead of down.
Email volumes have gone up 30% since 2020 and the average person has nearly 200 unread emails a day. How are you learning to thrive alongside tech, vs. becoming burnt out?
YouTube is great at sending users videos that it thinks they'll like based on their interests. But new research shows that the site's powerful algorithms can also flood young users with violent and disturbing content. https://t.co/Oagq7C7ZFK
