@notwhyIfwhynot@damintoell My analysis is I've been alive for over 50 years and not once in my entire life has anyone ever used the term 86 to mean killing someone.
It's kind of a deep linguistic point with how the English language treats euphemisms, but after some serious analysis, I've figured out that the reason so many people think "86" is a death threat is that they're lying
@peacejoygrace@JamesSurowiecki And everyone knows that when you find a joke "in poor taste" the only possible response is to indict the comedian on federal charges.
Bro, gtfoh with your concern trolling nonsense. It's embarrassing.
@Rickisback_ON_X@JayTownAlabama@DAGToddBlanche Probably because absolute children who should know better tried to twist it into something it wasn't.
People delete things all the time to keep a horde of too-online morons off their back.
You know this, of course.
@JayTownAlabama@DAGToddBlanche This is the most embarrassing pile of nonsense I've seen in a long time. There's literal generations of evidence that to 86 something means to get rid of/stop it. Not murder. That includes the many conservatives that have used the term in the exact way that Comey did. Clown shit.
@TheAmishDude@SmTownWife@bonchieredstate She clearly hates his guts. She's only in his presence when it's absolutely necessary. You really think she isn't counting down the days?
@JaredSleeper I wouldn't be at all surprised if the real numbers are half that. I've worked with LinkedIn data and it's not always accurate or current.
@BecomingCritter I do think there's something to be said for not letting people finance such a huge amount with anything less than good credit.
Everyone involved in this deal knew what was gonna happen here, except for the moron customer.
@LeapDayBaby92@financedystop I did a withdrawal from the biggest, oldest Wells Fargo bank in downtown San Francisco. This is where they bankrolled the California Gold Rush from.
When they said they needed to get more cash I acted like an adult. I didn't assume the bank was crashing.
@LeapDayBaby92@financedystop This is silly. Banks frequently don't have that on hand. It means zero about the stability of the bank. I did a big withdrawal once. The bank got cash from another branch. No big deal.
Crashing out because of an issue you made up in your own head isn't the best way to operate.
