@zain_hoda Helpful post. Question: in your example of the agent becoming the primary interaction layer in Salesforce (with people logging in occasionally), how do you envision new account and opportunity data being entered into the Salesforce? Indirectly through Agents?
@shaunmmaguire If Trump is pro crypto, do you think that potentially leads to a conflict of interest as it relates to reining in our national debt and deficit spending? Relatedly, would you be willing to share why you think being pro crypto is important to our country?
@shaunmmaguire @cigar_vet How do you reconcile this with the fiscal responsibility you expect out of this Trump/Elon? I’d really appreciate you explaining why crypto, more broadly, is good for our country (I can understand bitcoin as a store of value for people living in developing economies)
@shaunmmaguire@america Thanks for your transparency and willingness to engage in debate @shaunmmaguire. Does Trump’s favorable stance toward crypto play a factor in your support? If so, can you share your view on why crypto is good for our country?
@jburnmurdoch@paulg Do you think Silicon Valley’s support of politicians who are pro-crypto is because they believe crypto is better for the country, or because they think it will help their returns? A skeptic would say the latter, so it would be good to know if it is the former and, if so, why
@iruletheworldmo If humans jobs are ultimately replaced by AI agents (and so humans no longer generate income), who will the AI agents be creating value for?
@DavidSacks Do you mind articulating why you think it is very important for the U.S. to encourage innovation in crypto? Without a clear explanation of why you think it’s important, some may think you are only encouraging it because you own crypto and want the value to increase.
@SecretCFO Agree this an astute observation. One point of clarification - when I hear capital structure I think of the mix of debt and equity. But this observation makes the distinction that the type of equity holder (PE, growth equity, etc) has a big impact on how businesses operate.
@OnlyCFO That’s what I figured. If I’m following it correctly, I think in the calc above you accidentally showed the attainment gross of discounts, but your point still remains - not all sales are the same.
@SecretCFO …I think some banks did some of this as well during the financial crisis.
Agree that if they do it each Q, they can mask DPO, but analysts can look at liquidity ratios like acid test ratio or current ratio to help get a better picture.
@SecretCFO I kinda recall this during global financial crisis when public auto companies, who looked like they had significant cash on their B/S, were at near-term risk of going bankrupt - their cash balance would drop significantly just after the end of each quarter when they paid bills…
@benedictevans@vkhosla@vkhosla can you help play this out? GDP isn’t just a measure of output. It’s also a measure of income. If the majority of jobs are eliminated, there is less income to sustain GDP. Is ur view that a few companies will generate trillions in earnings and distribute via UBI?
@sama If AI automates most jobs away, what income is generated to sustain the economy/GDP?
I get that AI has the potential to enable more productive output, just unclear who would have the income to purchase it unless new jobs are created that AI cannot displace
@buccocapital If your job is to make calls on the economy, I can understand being happy if your predictions prove accurate. For ex. a stock trader underweights the market and is happy to outperform when the prediction plays out
What bothers me are the folks trying to actively cause a downturn
@PhilippeDesaul1 @liron@VioletStraFish@ESYudkowsky …but at least, on the margin, it feels like humans are starting off with more “control” over the circumstances than an ant has compared to humans.
And I think that is probably an important point to highlight
@PhilippeDesaul1 @liron@VioletStraFish@ESYudkowsky I do think that is the slight distinction, though, that I’m trying to better understand. I do think there is a reason to believe an AGI would care, which is that a human starts off programming it.
Don’t disagree that there could still be devastating unintended consequences…
