We are writing with heavy hearts to cry out for help.

42 children from Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School, Askira Uba LGA, Borno State were abducted on May 15, 2026. The children include toddlers as young as 2 years old.

Today marks 67 days and our children are still being held in the forests. We have not heard anything about their whereabouts or condition.

We have waited, we have prayed, and we have reported. But up to today, we have not seen concrete action from the Borno State Government under Governor Babagana Zulum to secure their release and bring them home safely.

Our children are in the forest. They are scared, hungry, and in danger. Every day that passes puts their lives at more risk.

We are pleading:

1. Governor Zulum: Please act now. Deploy all necessary resources for the immediate rescue of the 42 Mussa children.
2. Security agencies: We need a coordinated rescue operation urgently.
3. The public and media: Help us amplify this. Do not let our children be forgotten.

We are parents, we are a community, and we are desperate. We cannot do this alone.

Please, help us call on the authorities to act before it is too late. Our children deserve to come home.

Tinubu’s government allocated N211.9 million to dig a single borehole. A total of 538 boreholes in the budget amounted to N114 billion.

The average cost for a borehole in Nigeria is N3 million. Considering but not conceding that recent inflation has hiked the price of a borehole to N10 million, the entire cost for the 538 boreholes will be N5.38 billion.

With this price, we can easily tell that the budget for the 538 boreholes project was inflated by about N105 billion - almost 95%.

Now, away from that, let’s draw an analogy. There are two young Nigerian tech engineers, Nathan Nwachuku and Maxwell Maduka, who founded a manufacturing company called Terra Industries.

These two smart brains, in their mid-twenties, needed just about $34 million (less than N48 billion) to begin their company. They couldn't access funding, even a loan, in Nigeria. They had to look outside the country for seed funding.

Thanks to 8VC, a US-based venture capital firm founded by Palantir Technologies co-founder Joe Lonsdale, alongside Lux Capital and Valor Equity Partners, the two Nigerian young men were able to access funding of $34 million dollars.

With this funding, they kicked off production at full speed. Now, they are in about 8 African countries and Canada. Also, they have diversified their bases - one in Nigeria and another in Accra, Ghana. Had they not accessed the seed funding, just maybe, their dream may not have become a reality.

Now, think for a moment. Had the N105 billion, which will be looted through such a primitive project as digging boreholes in the modern age, been saved and channeled into funding futuristic giant projects like Terra Industries, imagine how many such companies would have been funded.

On the flip side, imagine how many other ideas, which have huge prospects, are deprived of the opportunity to materialize simply because someone somewhere in Abuja is looting away N105 billion through a poor project, such as digging boreholes!

This is Nigeria, today!

It is my opinion that the real evil of corruption is in the opportunities it deprives the country of and the dream of its vibrant brains it stifles.✍️
