Shocking reports from #Arakan State reveal the #Arakan#Army's tactic of using #Rohingya settlements as battlegrounds in their confrontation with the #Myanmar military junta (SAC). The international community must intervene to stop these atrocities. #RohingyaCrisis#HumanRights
Arakan Army (AA) Expels Rohingya Families from Ale Than Kyaw
After the mass violence against the Rohingya in Rakhine State by the Myanmar military and government in 2017, only 28 families remained in Ale Than Kyaw village in Southern Maungdaw Township.
This morning (June 10th), the Arakan Army (AA) came into the village and expelled all these Rohingya families. According to the victims, they were not allowed to take any of their personal belongings and were just forced to leave their homes.
BREAKING! Myanmar Navy Attacks Boat Carrying Rohingya.
On June 9, 2024, at 10 pm, a boat carrying 35 adult Rohingya and some children fleeing to Bangladesh from Maung Ni village in Rakhine State’s Maungdaw Township was attacked.
Approximately 5 minutes after departure, the boat was stopped by three Myanmar Border Guard Police officers, who extorted BDT 6,000 from them. About 2 miles from that location, the Myanmar Navy rammed the boat, causing it to sink.
Only a woman and two men survived and fortunately were able to return to Maungdaw. Most of the adults on the boat sustained injuries at various places, and most of them are from Buthidaung Township. They were fleeing to Bangladesh to seek medical attention.
According to survivors, more than 40 Rohingya are dead in the river, with bodies floating on the water.
Displaced Rohingya Villagers in Northern Maungdaw Blocked from Returning Home by Arakan Army (AA)
On May 6, 2024, almost 7,000 Rohingya villagers from Paung Zar and La Baw Zar villages in Rakhine State's Northern Maungdaw Township had to flee to save their lives due to fighting between the Myanmar military and the Arakan Army (AA).
Four villagers were killed, and several villagers were injured by the airstrikes carried out by the Myanmar military on that day. At least 40 houses were burned to ashes.
Since then, all the villagers have been near the downtown area. There is no refugee camp, and no one is supporting them with humanitarian aid. Food prices are skyrocketing, and they can’t afford anything as they have no earnings. They are taking refuge in houses, which is a significant burden for the hosts.
There hasn’t been any fighting in the villages since they fled, and the AA has been camping inside the villages.
Most of the villagers are farmers. The monsoon season has now begun, and they want to go back to their villages and resume their livelihoods.
They have been trying to return to their villages, but the AA has been firing into the air, threatening them, and not allowing them to enter.
This is clearly forced displacement. The villagers must be allowed to return to their villages. The villages are not battlefields.

The Arakan Army (AA) has been perpetrating crimes against humanity and war crimes against the Rohingya.
Many hundreds have been massacred, shot to death, beheaded, abducted, and subjected to various other forms of violence. Tens of thousands have been displaced as dozens of villages and the urban area of Buthidaung were set on fire.
Their crimes will all be exposed; they cannot conceal them. Investigations are underway by multiple groups.
Prof. Abuza condemns Arakan Army for reverting to their default setting: violence against Rohingya.

Their arson attacks in Buthidaung undermine Myanmar's fight for democracy. The Arakan Army's hypocrisy and anti-Rohingya stance are jeopardising a unified opposition against the military junta.
Intense Clashes Displace Hundreds in Maungdaw Township
In Maungdaw township, south of Al Le Than Kyaw Village in BGP Sector 7, intense fighting occurred on 10 June at around 6:50 a.m. between the Myanmar army and Arakan Army. Arakan Army entered the Rohingya village displacing 300 to 400 residents. Those displaced are now staying near the river. The Rohingya name for this location is Haisurata.
Amid fighting between the Myanmar military and the Arakan Army (AA) in Rakhine State's Maungdaw Township, artillery shells hit the Habi West Rohingya hamlet of Thi Ho Kyun village tract today, resulting in 6 deaths, including two children, and 7 injuries, including four children.
Nay San Lwin, co-founder of the advocacy group Free Rohingya Coalition, said the onslaught against the minority Muslims was “far worse” than in 2017.
“This time the Rohingya are not just caught in the crossfire between the Myanmar army and AA. Both fighting sides are also violently targeting the community,” he said.

Nay San Lwin said the AA also torched dozens of Rohingya villages in Buthidaung township and extorted money from residents before pushing more than 200,000 people out of the area, with the UN human rights office calling the rampage “frightening and disturbing”.
“Over the past weeks, some hundred Rohingyas have been shot dead and beheaded by the AA,” Nay San Lwin said, adding the insurgents had blocked the displaced villagers from moving to safer parts of the country.
“Since Bangladesh has kept its border closed, the Rohingya cannot cross over to the neighbouring nation. They find no way to escape the war and violence.”

A short clip, possibly recorded in the early morning of May 18, shows the Rohingya being forced to leave their houses in Buthidaung by the Arakan Army (AA). They were trying to flee to Maungdaw but were blocked by the AA.
Both #military junta and terrorist group #AA are forcibly conscripting Rohingyas civilians including from Sittwe IDP camp, capital of #Arakan state. They are intimidating to block humanitarian aids if they decline to participate in military training.

Terrorist group #AA is arbitrarily escalating force conscription innocent #Rohingya youths again and beheadings the rest #Rohingya survivors in the rural areas of #Buthidaung. Almost android phones are being robbed by rebel #AA from Rohingya not to use internet.
