American Hedge Fund billionaire Bill Ackman is a learning machine.
"You can learn investing by reading books."
Here are his 9 favorite investing books everyone should read:
Book #13: The Value Investors
“It’s more important to be your own self, find your own rhythm, and form your own style.”
Many investors spend years trying to invest like Buffett.
But the best investors rarely copy anyone.
They study great investors.
Then they build an approach that matches their own temperament, strengths and personality.
There is no perfect investing style.
Only the one you can stick with through every market cycle.
One idea from a great investing book each week. Book #14 next Sunday.
Book #11: Capital Returns
“Strong growth in demand is often the direct cause of value destruction as it encourages a flood of capital into the industry, eroding returns.”
- Edward Chancellor
This is very topical for the AI boom.
A booming industry attracts capital.
More capital creates more capacity.
More capacity intensifies competition.
Competition destroys returns.
Great investing often starts by studying the supply side, not the demand side.
One idea from a great investing book each week. Book #12 next Sunday.
Turkish racism against Kurds still continues.
A racist Turkish man carried out a violent attack against a Kurdish shopkeeper in Bursa, simply for playing a song by the famous Kurdish artist Ahmet Kaya in his shop.
The Turkish aggressor threatened the Kurdish shopkeeper, saying:
"Where is your hometown? Are you playing a Kurdish song? I could smash your head through the glass, but I am not doing it so you understand the reality. Don't play this, don't lose your livelihood. I will wreck this stall and bury you right here."

Q: Why will today’s rich be tomorrows poor?
A: Message from book…..”All assets that require trust, assets that most people have….such as US Bonds, ETFs, Mutual Funds will be flushed down toilettes, all over the world.”
You can see that today as large bond holders, such as Japan have already started dumping US Bonds.
People who know what’s going to happen and what assets to hold ….will become the world’s new rich.
I want you to be one of the worlds new rich.
I want to:
Do you?
Feed your brain….read the book, and become one of tomorrows’s rich….while millions of today’s rich, become tomorrows poor!!!
History is repeating.
Please take care.

VALUE VS GROWTH
Rarely have value stocks been so inexpensive relative to growth ones.
Indeed, the value-to-growth ratio below has now reached 2.5 standard deviations below its long-term trend, a level at which it tends to bottom.
At this level, value stocks seem to offer a more attractive risk-reward for the years to come. as a return to the ratio's former top would imply a 430% outperformance for value stocks relative to growth ones.
Time to focus on the next decade's winners rather than extrapolating what has worked over the past 15 years.
Cycles do matter.

Conor Neill on why luck is not random and how to deliberately get more of it:
1. Luck flows through people and travels by conversation. James Clear's framing: keep talking to the same people, keep finding the same opportunities. start talking to new people, start finding new opportunities. If you want different luck, start walking into different rooms. The people you have access to determine the opportunities that reach you. This is not a metaphor. It is mechanics.
2. What separates successful people from unsuccessful ones is not the amount of luck they receive. It is return on luck. Jim Collins's idea: when a luck event presents itself, what do you do with it. Most people get roughly similar amounts of lucky moments. The difference is who is prepared and paying attention when they arrive.
3. A careers advisor in Spain gave one piece of advice that changed everything: meet one new person every week. For 25 years, the speaker kept a slot in his calendar every single week for a coffee with someone new. almost every significant opportunity in his life, his teaching role, his business, came through a single individual and a conversation. The math on one new person per week over 25 years is staggering.
4. When you meet someone new, you are starting at number 21 on their list of priorities. Dan Sullivan's framework: they have at least 20 things more important than talking to you. If you spend the conversation talking about yourself, your goals, what you want, you drop from 21 to 30 to 50 and fall off the list entirely. If you ask about them, their goals, what brought them there, you move up. Most good people, if you explore who they are, will then explore who you are. That is how a real conversation opens.
5. Luck surface area is a size you can control. The more people you meet and the more genuine conversations you have, the larger the surface through which luck can reach you. same people, same conversations, same luck. new people, new conversations, new luck. It is that simple, and most people never deliberately expand it.
this didn't "happen", we caused it
first, children disappeared from daily life
most women turn 30 without ever holding a baby (they don't have siblings or cousins, and young babies have been removed from shared spaces), never changed a diaper or watched one up close.
you cant want what you've never seen
second, we killed the single income.
the average family needs both parents working just to get to the end of the month, so raising a family well went from hard to something practically impossible (2-3 months of maternity leave should be considered a crime against humanity).
then schools and media, the whole cathedral, all pushed towards the same direction in a systematic brainwashing effort: pushing every girl at the career, motherhood turned into that despicable thing you settle for when the better options run out, "a smaller life". nothing worth desiring, and if you do you must be ostracised
social media just finished the job.
presented childfree as freedom and ideal life, filmed the worst four seconds of a mothers day and called it a warning or "here's motherhood"
and underneath all of it, we removed people from history
no ancestors you owe anything, no descendants you're building for, just one atomic self detached from any sense of continuity. one life with no purpose other than its own selfish goals
especially for western people who have been taught that their ancestors are the most evil humans who ever existed
someone with no past and no future has no reason to see themselves as part of history, and everything they do revolves around their own pleasure
why would you carry something you were raised to be ashamed of?
so a quarter of women raised in captivity selecting for civilizational suicide becomes inevitable
the idea that this was a conscious choice is delusional.
we are the first species in history to get everything it ever wanted: safety, medicine, abundance, ninety good years, and the result is suicide.
everything else alive still manages to reproduce through famine and plagues. we got paradise and stopped
anyone shutting off their own survival drive with no threat in sight is definitionally suicidal and that's where we are now
