Farage’s plan to scrap indefinite leave could collapse the NHS…
Which would be incredibly good news for someone wanting us to move to an ‘insurance based system’
FYI the average American pays £480 per month for private healthcare
Please wake up folks.
Built in 1617-18, the market Cross in Wymondham is an octagonal structure that still stands today. 🤩
It was built to replace an earlier medieval structure that was destroyed in the Wymondham Great Fire in 1615.
This photo was taken in 1925 by Nathaniel Lloyd.
If you are familiar with Brighouse in West Yorkshire, you might recognise the scene depicted in this photo I took fifty-odd years ago. The flour silos are still there (although they are a climbing activity centre now) and so are some of the buildings at the bottom of Briggate. Many of the other buildings have gone, and few people go shopping in a headscarf with a wicker basket anymore!
Nathanial Whittock’s drawing after a sketch by Wenceslaus Hollar (1607-1677) of the Halifax Gibbet, an early guillotine. It is not known when the Gibbet Law of Halifax was first enforced, but it was introduced around 1280, by the Earl of Warrene (Manor of Wakefield).
My photograph captures the end of an era: it's Halifax before Burdock Way, Halifax of Crossley's Carpets; it's railway lines still spreading beneath North Bridge in the shadow of the Gas Works; it's chimneys and churches and treeless horizons. The 1960s are about to become the 1970s - where once there was smoke and soot, now change is in the air.

It took three extraordinary, tenacious Scottish women with an army behind them to get this case heard by the Supreme Court and, in winning, they’ve protected the rights of women and girls across the UK. @ForWomenScot, I’m so proud to know you 🏴💜🏴💚🏴🤍🏴
Make do and mend comes to mind when researching the building of the Elizabethan Oakwell Hall in Birstall, just down the road from me. Comments like 'Oakwell represents a typical local compromise - a mix of local Yorkshire building and fashionable gentry style'
Lord Bamford owes £500,000,000 to HMRC he has retired from the House of Lords and fled.
He expects his debt just like Michelle Mone's £232,000,000 debt to be written off.
We must recover every penny from these thieves, and toss them in jail.
