@pegobry_en Public school teacher is one profession that virtually everyone has contact with. If they don't get the level of respect you think they deserve, what does that say about them?
@Devon_Eriksen_ Are we really sure this is right? Political violence from the Irish? Is that in character for them?
Next thing you know you'll be telling me they drink, too.
@iowahawkblog I don't read this one this way. This is a point about how the law functions, not one about this case specifically. He is right: There is a court order that needs to be respected, regardless of the merits of the order.
I think the whole case is shady, but on the Paxton is correc
@iowahawkblog In the NFL, success is when you internally develop your own guys instead of going out and paying big for free agents. CFB is the same.
Talent development is much more important than talent acquisition, and that's what good coaches do.
A lot of people fundamentally misread this movie. It is not, "It could happen here!" It is, instead, a story of the brutality of Communism transplanted to a place and time to make it legible.
Have you watched Red Dawn w your sons? You have time before the 4th of July so they can appreciate those who saved our country from communism in the 1980s.
@blightersort My kids and I, two of our favorite games are Here I Stand and Virgin Queen, which cover Europe in the 16th century. A key component of both is the extremely bloody wars of religion in the time period.

It's more like being a heavy equipment operator. You work six months a year for a big salary and then spend the winter on your keister.
@Lux_Stella_@asymmetricinfo It is amazing and hilarious how much Dungeons and Dragons metaphors have made it into everyday slang. I continue to be amazed at how it went from Devil worship to mainstream.
@blightersort Dalton also has a long-running guest appearance on Chuck that is absolutely fantastic. He shows incredible range as he goes from schlub to menacing bad guy.
From my own chapter in the book: "America has lost faith in legacy higher education, and rightly so, based
on the “education” experienced by the vast majority of college students. The response, however, cannot be to abandon collegiate education: great nations need to form their young adults in the excellences proper to a
free society. By looking back to perennial truths about
the nature of liberal education, creating new, smaller, leaner, and more creative colleges, while breaking up and reforming the major monoliths, Americans can provide a great nation with the kind of great college education it deserves." 1/3
