How AI Agents Learn From Experience.

1. Introduction

→ AI agents improve their decision-making through a feedback-driven process known as Reinforcement Learning (RL).
→ The agent learns by interacting with its environment, receiving feedback, and refining its behavior for better performance over time.

2. Agent Interaction & Observation

→ The agent observes the state of the environment.
→ It performs an action based on its current policy or decision rule.
→ The environment responds with a reward or penalty.
→ The agent records the consequences of its actions for future learning.
→ Example → a robot learns how to navigate a maze by observing outcomes of each move.

3. Learning & Policy Update

→ The agent uses a learning algorithm (e.g., Deep Q-Network, Policy Gradient) to analyze its experiences.
→ Experiences (state, action, reward, next state) are stored in an experience replay buffer.
→ The algorithm updates the policy network, a model that determines which actions yield the best rewards.
→ The goal is to maximize cumulative future rewards by improving decision quality with each cycle.

4. Improved Behavior & Iteration

→ The updated policy is applied to guide new actions.
→ The agent acts, collects more experiences, and refines its model again.
→ This creates a continuous improvement cycle:
