@DaleJohnsonBBC I don't mind it. Yes it puts power in the receiving players hands to make a fuss and get a player sent off but just don't put your hand over your mouth then you idiot. It's a stupid trend and if this puts an end to it great!
@jonnyrmcfarlane Only some good fortune kept it at 1-0. Could easily have been 3. It might work again against Brazil and a 1-0 defeat gets us through but it could also very much be a tanking. He needs to be more balanced than just having 11 behind the ball for the first 60 mins
@geeman909@Ryan17ward Oh come on. We all get that we can't go gung ho against the likes of Morocco but he was as usual too extreme and set them up to be far too passive. Should have started Doak to give us one out ball. You could argue Dykes as well to give us another with the long ball.
@WingsScotland@Eddie101228 There are countless numbers of examples of games that have finished before the allotted time is up. It happens frequently. So clearly yes the ref is allowed to do that.
@WingsScotland@Eddie101228 I think the point is, the ref saw it as utterly pointless in waiting for the field to be cleared in order to restart the game for 5 seconds and McInnes agreed.
@jcorrigangolf 2/2 - if there had been 3 mins left he most likely would have reached a different decision on what to do. Such a big deal has been made of this rather than just condemning the Celtic fans for being utter pricks
@jcorrigangolf I think the mealy mouthed statement from the SFA was trying to say that ref knew there were seconds left of the 8 mins and knew the field wouldn't be cleared before then, so on basis McInnes was happy to end the game, ref simply waited those few seconds and called it. 1/2
@pieandbov I've seen referees end games early loads of times. It happens more often than you'd think. Obviously the hoo haa here is because of the importance of the game and the eejits storming the pitch, but it's clearly been accepted before. Often happens if one team is well ahead.
@UsedGolfFacts Not sure your point? There were around 20 players in the field who would not normally qualify for signature events. That's the nature of it being a pairs event.
