The countries that consistently produce the highest number of top-level players tend to have one thing in common: their football culture gives young players access to all three phases of development, or, at minimum, two of them.

Phase 1: Football starts at home, relationship with the ball.
This is where a child develops their basic vocabulary with the ball: touching it, manipulating it, experimenting, and becoming comfortable with it. It’s like learning words before learning how to form sentences.

Phase 2: Street football, using that vocabulary to express yourself.
Street football gives players the freedom to use the vocabulary they’ve developed. They experiment, create, solve problems, compete, and express themselves without constant instruction. It’s where they learn to put their words together and create their own language.

Phase 3: Organized football, structure and coaching.
This is where organized play, tactics, principles, and coaching come in. Structure has its place, but the problem is that many kids enter this phase immediately. From the beginning, they are surrounded by cones, drills, stoppages, instructions, and constant coaching from people who have accumulated licenses, philosophies, methods, and theories.

Instead of first developing a relationship with the ball and learning to express themselves through the game, they are often taught how to follow the structure of the game before they have developed the vocabulary to play it.

The best development environments understand that you don’t teach someone to write before they’ve learned the words.

Waktu Alex Zwiers datang, saya tanya soal formasi terbaik untuk grassroot. Apakah 4-3-3 yang jadi formasi Filanesia benar memudahkan pemain atau tidak. Jawaban dia: “Tidak ada formasi terbaik. Tapi tidak salah juga membuat satu formasi untuk dipelajari, itu bisa berguna buat akademi yang tidak memiliki filosofi. Yang perlu didorong ke akademi-akademi adalah cara bermain untuk kemudian menciptakan filosofi masing-masing.”

Btw, ada dua kawan kita yang terlibat dalam pembangunan filosofi ini, @MrAunRahman dan @dexglenniza.

Aun beberapa tahun belakangan malang melintang di level manajemen klub, yang kali ini bertindak sebagai interpreter untuk delegasi FIFA. Dex diundang sebagai “researcher”. Selain mereka total ada 8 orang dari luar industri yang diundang untuk bisa menyumbang ide dan gagasan.

Program ini juga jadi last dance-nya coach Iwan Setiawan untuk sepakbola Indonesia. 🥀

Ga ada juga yang bilang mendukung pertumbuhan itu berarti harus mendukung kerusakan lingkungan.

Isunya bukan di growth tapi di bagaimana growth itu dicapai.

JUSTRU kerusakan lingkungan itu dienable ketergantungan kita pada industri ekstraktif ketimbang industri. Growthnya ga dapet. Lingkungannya juga rusak.

Batu bara, sawit, lumpur LAPINDO itu semua konsekuensi ketergantungan perekonomian kita pada industri ekstraktif.

Negara maju lingkungannya bisa lebih baik sekarang ya karena mereka industrialisasi dan ga perlu bergantung pada kerusakan alam untuk mendorong pertumbuhan.

Itu yang harusnya jadi fokus kita!

Menteri Keuangan (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa kena reshuffle. Kini, posisinya digantikan oleh wakilnya, Suahasil Nazara. Pelantikan Suahasil berlangsung di Istana Kepresidenan Jakarta, Senin (14/9).

Suahasil bukan wajah asing di Kemenkeu. Karier Suahasil di Kemenkeu kian signifikan saat ditugaskan sebagai Kepala Badan Kebijakan Fiskal secara definitif pada 31 Oktober 2016. Lalu, pada 25 Oktober 2019, ia dipercaya sebagai Wamenkeu dalam Kabinet Indonesia Maju, mendampingi Menkeu dalam perumusan dan pelaksanaan kebijakan fiskal nasional.
