@Z410S@NASCARONFOX@BubbaWallace Most stage points out of everyone, 4th most laps in the top 10. A different guy from what we saw at the back end of ‘24. Hardly ever gets a mention though.
@karunchandhok Could we not argue that max went off and also gained an advantage, as he wouldn't have been able to carry the speed if he stayed on track and lando probably would have got past him? Not that I watched the race anyway because in my opinion f1 has gone severely downhill as a sport
@PoweredByNovi@TriovalLife@joeylogano@RichmondRaceway@NASCAR@Team_Penske Exactly this, similar thing happened in f1 at the beginning of the year and the teams that allowed guests onto the pit lane got a heavy fine. They shouldn't have been there, he was limping a car back, he was going to spin the wheels up a bit especially when he had to stop.
@Swissss @NeiAleSki @KateFantom I don't have an axe to grind. I don't mind EV users, or EV vehicles. What I do mind is evangelical owners claiming there's no downside to them whatsoever and everyone should go and buy one, even the people who are barely surviving because "you could pay 14k off your mortgage"
@NeiAleSki @Swissss@KateFantom And yes ICE vehicles will still be around until the government decides to tax us out of them to meet green targets. I mean they're already taxing EV's so they've got to help make them appealing some how, they'll tax fuel more and tax vehicles more.
@NeiAleSki @Swissss@KateFantom The basic technology in batteries is the same, and the problem you have is if one cell in a "pack" fails it affects the whole pack. I imagine the charging tech will help prevent damage to them but the cells themselves are the same. So could possibly suffer the same fate.
@Swissss@KateFantom Think DC charging you can get them to sub half an hour for a 60% top up (20-80) but your usable range from this when new was about 60 miles, in reality nowadays it's probably 20miles and it would cost you £13 (based off the nearest charge point to me that's 50kw @ 85p/KW)
@Swissss@KateFantom The earliest of leafs (the ones that are about 2.5k used) only had a 3.3kw charger, so no matter how much power you'd chuck at it with a home AC charger it would take 8 hours, some of them came with a 6.6kw at an option for an extra £1500 and I think eventually as standard.
@jonlybear And they'll probably never come down to that sort of price range en mass because they'll be artificially inflated to make the people who can afford them not shit themselves about how much money they'll lose in 5 years
@jonlybear@KateFantom Also people need support, charge points aren't cheap, and most people wont be willing to pay an extra £1000+ upfront to own a car. If the government really wants people to take up electric then bring a charge point grant in
@jonlybear@KateFantom About £2k, but even then you'll still have people who can't afford it, and you'll still get people who won't want to swap, for me in my current position it doesn't make sense at all, I can get a call at 7 pm and at 3am I'm driving 200 miles, hybrid for me works much better
@Swissss@KateFantom Yeah it is, fair enough, still no good having a car that can only do 50 miles after a 8 hour charge, even a fast charge (20-80%) will take you 4 hours and you'll only get around 30miles
@KateFantom 4 years and all it had was basic servicing and tyres. Your EV ideology works when you have the funds to buy a £20k plus car, but for people in the north who most can't even afford decent food, it doesn't work, and they just need a way to get to work to earn just enough to live.
@KateFantom I honestly don't know how many times I've replied to posts like this. This math works for brand new electric vehicles. Buy a £2500 Nissan Leaf and then do the maths and you'll see why so many people are still on ICE. They have a range now of about 50 miles indicated....
@KateFantom My 2.2 diesel Relay van fully loaded still done 35mpg. If we go comparable, I had a 2.2 diesel civic, it cost me £1000 to buy, it done 50mpg every single day of the 4 years I had it, and I didn't have to pay £1000 for a charger to be installed and it never went wrong....
