Allegedly killed in Songkong, Henglep by COBRA Team. Reports say he was stripped, forced into a uniform, then killed. Is this how Central Forces treat Kuki civilians?

Staged encounter by security forces raises serious concerns, with the victim allegedly stripped & dressed in different clothing to falsely portray him as a militant. The Kuki community will not tolerate such abuse of authority, manipulation of evidence, and gross misuse of power.

This morning, Mr. Lenminsang of Kolchung village who was present at Songkong Village, Henglep Subdivision, Manipur was reportedly k!lled by security forces while going to a regular duty owing to the failure of the same SF to protect us. Why this biased? @adgpi@AmitShah
Disturbing reports from Henglep Sub-Division, CRPF (Cobra) opened fire and used explosives against village volunteers on guard duty near Songkong village, Dated: 16-06-2026, resulting in the death of Mr Lenminsang of Kolchung village. Reports further claim that his body was taken away, raising serious concerns about an attempted cover up and the possibility of a fake encounter narrative. These allegations cannot be ignored. A transparent, independent investigation must be conducted immediately, and anyone found responsible must be held accountable. Justice for Lenminsang!!

Allegations against #NSCN-IM and #ZUF-Kamson cadres must be investigated impartially. Innocent lives should never be the target of violence.

Where were these much publicised appeals to humanitarian values when two Kuki villagers were gunned down at Thawai while carrying out the simple task of repairing a community water supply line?
It is difficult to accept moral lectures today from voices that remained conspicuously absent when Kuki civilians were repeatedly falling victim to violence.
Between March and June 2026, twelve Kuki lives including that of an unborn child were lost in a series of incidents widely attributed to Naga perpetrators.
On 11 March,Thangboimang Khongsai of Shangkai Kuki Village and Thengin Baite of Thawai Kuki Village were killed near Litan, with their bodies recovered the following day.
On 24 April,Letlal Sithlhou and Paominlun Haolai lost their lives in the Mulam–Shongphel area.
The tragedy deepened on 13 May when Rev. V. Sithlhou,Pastor Paogoulen, and Rev. Kaigoulen were brutally killed along the Kotzim-Kotlen route, sending shockwaves across the Kuki community.
Less than a month later,on 5 June,Loibol Khullen witnessed the extermination of an entire family.Jangminlal Haokip, Letkhongam Haokip,Tinmary Haokip, and her seven-month-old unborn child were all killed.
Then,on 9 June,Haokhogin Lhouvum was shot dead at Lasan.
These individuals were not mere entries on a casualty list. They were family members, spiritual leaders, farmers, and ordinary villagers whose lives were cut short. Yet their deaths are too often overlooked, minimised,or ignored altogether when conversations about justice and human rights arise.
The memory of the three pastors murdered on 13 May remains particularly painful.Despite the anger and grief that swept through the Kuki community that day,Kuki civil society organisations ensured that Naga travellers along AH-1 were not harmed.Thousands travelled safely through Kuki areas. Those who had been detained by agitated members of the public and whose whereabouts were known were subsequently released, many within hours.
That response demonstrated restraint at a time when emotions were running high. It stood in stark contrast to allegations that civilians including students and daily wage earners were being detained elsewhere simply because of their ethnic identity.
The release of fourteen abducted civilians is undoubtedly a positive development. Innocent people should never be deprived of their liberty or used as bargaining tools. However, returning civilians who should never have been abducted in the first place cannot be portrayed as an exceptional act of benevolence.
It is the minimum obligation required by any society that claims to respect human dignity.
True moral principles are tested by consistency, not convenience.
They cannot be invoked only when they serve a political narrative while remaining silent about other victims.
Justice loses its meaning when it is selective.Compassion loses its sincerity when it is extended only to one's own community.
If there is to be an honest conversation about peace, justice, and humanity, then every innocent life must be acknowledged equally.
No victim should be forgotten because their suffering is inconvenient to a particular narrative.
A principle that applies only to some people is not a principle at all.
A conscience that awakens only for certain victims is not true compassion. And a justice that remembers one tragedy while ignoring another is not justice it is simply partiality masquerading as virtue.

This morning Kultuh Kuki ancestral village was attacked and houses were burnt down. Combined forces of NSCN-IM, NSCN Eastern Flank, Myanmar Meitei Militants, Shanni National Army and Junta military carried out the assault under the protection of Tangkhul CSOs, Tangkhul pastors, and the United Naga Council.
Today we lost two innocent Kuki civilians. One was a head deacon in the church. The other was the youth chairman of the village. Both were killed by NSCN Eastern Flank, NSCN-IM, Myanmar Meitei Militants, Shanni National Army and Junta military while defending our ancestral land.
We send our deepest condolences to the families of our martyred brothers. Their blood was spilled on the soil of their forefathers for simply being Kuki.
We demand immediate arrest of every person involved in the murder of our civilians and the burning of Kultuh. Book the attackers, their handlers, and those who gave them shelter and cover.
Failure to take action will prove that the state has abandoned us. The peace-loving Kuki community has shown restraint again and again while our villages burn and our people are killed. We will not be mute spectators anymore if attacks on Kuki ancestral villages continue.
Kultuh is burning. Two innocent Kuki dead. Foreign militants and insurgents are inside India killing civilians. Act now or own the consequences of your silence.

After releasing the 14 Kuki Hostages by United Naga Council (UNC), #Kultuh_Kuki_Village in Kamjong District, Manipur came under heavy attack from NSCN-IM's Eastern Front, this morning claiming the lives of the Head Deacon and its Youth Chairman.
Why is this cycle of violence and continuous killing happening sporadically? Why are Kacha Nagas singling out church leaders whenever such attacks occur? What version of Christianity did the Tangkhuls claim to represent if church leaders are repeatedly being targeted?
Violence in all its forms must be condemned by everyone, not selectively or according to one's convenience, interests or affiliations.

Deeply saddened by reports that 2 Kuki civilians were killed in #Kultuh village, #Kamjong, in a pre-dawn attack allegedly linked to #NSCN-IM (EF). Innocent lives should never pay the price of conflict.
