I’m increasingly convinced that the ultimate sign of growth is faster recovery. You still get upset. You still make mistakes. You still have bad days. But you return to center faster. Apologize faster. Reset faster. Learn faster. Fast recovery compounds.
we hit our goal: $100 MRR by the end of month! 🤯
on the short-form video side, we had a big spike — around 1 million views in the last 30 days on tiktok. one format is clearly working well. however, we're not totally sure how many of those views are turning into installs yet, so we just set up https://t.co/2XvYQvgC18 for better attribution. we'll have clearer data soon.
the longer educational onboarding is still live. completion rate dropped as expected, but the users who finish it seem more qualified and understand the app better. feels like the right trade-off for now.
we shipped several new things in the past weeks — sleep consultations, the nook (our forum), and some other improvements. we're looking much more closely at the numbers to guide our next moves.
next goal: reach $1,000 MRR by the end of Q2 2026.
let's go!
yeah, BabyLingo just crossed 2k signups!
on the acquisition side, we've been leaning hard into short-form video content. one of our videos hit +200k views, and we're doubling down on the format. it's starting to bring in real, consistent traffic.
but the biggest change recently was strategic, not growth-related.
we completely rebuilt our onboarding. it went from short and quick to intentionally long — walking users through their actual pain points, explaining what the app does and why it exists. it's more like an education flow now.
onboarding completion dropped ~10% because of it. and we're fine with that.
the users who make it through now actually understand what they're getting. and right after that longer onboarding, we placed a paywall with a 14-day free trial. before, we had a short onboarding and showed a hard paywall after 14 days of use — very different.
we're still at ~$20 MRR, but in the last few days, users have been starting trials consistently, and the signal feels different this time.
next goal: $100 MRR by end of month.

during my first prenatal appointment for izabelly, the doctor prescribed the wrong dose of folic acid.
i only caught it because i'd read about it before. went to the pharmacy — almost everything on the shelf was the wrong dose too. dug deeper, got a second opinion from a more up-to-date doctor: yeah, it was wrong.
that lit a huge red flag for me.
what's in the app right now:
pregnancy side:
- daily personalized content for your week
- AI chat for doubts anytime
- safety checker (foods, meds, activities)
- symptom checker
- weekly "letters" from your baby to you
after birth:
- week-by-week development tracking
- personalized daily routines for baby
- cloud memory album
(and a lot more coming)

today we finally hit ~1k signups. took a bit longer than i initially hoped, but we got there.
onboarding stayed solid at ~90%, which is great. retention was rough at first, but it started climbing once we built more useful stuff: daily story sequences that actually feel relevant, the gestational timeline, and especially the personalized weekly plans for baby development after birth.
the big shift was moving away from a ton of standalone exercises toward this more cohesive, phase-based companion experience. now it's pregnancy tracking + post-birth support, with science-backed daily stories, a chat for any question (pulled from thousands of articles), and content that's tailored to each family's real moment – no generic one-size-fits-all ruler that makes parents feel like their kid is "behind".
the pain we were solving (that constant insecurity, comparison, and overwhelm) feels more addressed now. users are coming back because the app is actually helping reduce anxiety day-to-day, not just throwing info at them.
and fresh news: apple approved the new version with paywall less than a week ago, and we already have our first paid subscribers. monetization experiments officially started.
still early, still iterating on acquisition channels (mostly content + testing paid), but the data is giving us clearer signals.
game plan for the next weeks:
> go from ~50 to ~1k signups to gather more data
> analyze that data (onboarding, activation, retention etc.)
> decide next steps
we’ve validated the pain — i feel it myself as a dad-to-be — and even got people to pay on a smoke-test quiz funnel. so demand isn’t the problem.
what we’re not confident about yet is the content format. not even i’m coming back to my own app consistently, which says a lot.
the pain is real. now we just need a format that makes people want to return to the app.
time to find that problem–solution fit.

BabyLingo just crossed 1,000 total downloads! 🤯
1,032 so far... and over half (554!) came in this month alone – and it's only january 10th.
apple also just approved the new version with the paywall – so we're starting to experiment with monetization.
let's go!
Do hard things. Because there’s nothing better than a hard-earned win. The pain. The struggle. The grit. And then, the reward. The feeling of knowing that you paid the cost of entry for the thing you wanted to achieve. Hard things are good for the soul.
BabyLingo just hit #198 in the education category on the App Store! 🤯
it’s only been a little over 2 months since v1 release.
still feels pretty unreal looking at this.
grateful for our journey,@0renat0_0.
100 downloads in the last 7 days for BabyLingo! 🤯
feels like we might have found an acquisition strategy that's actually working.
