The Flesch Reading Ease score is highly dependent on the complexity of the topic you write about.
But SEO and content tools using FRE for readability recommendations don't take this into account.
Stick to solid writing practices. Ignore readability scores.
@amrancz@kranthitech I think Audible has this implemented. Althought if I remember correctly, it’s more like an offer when you want to cancel, not a feature in itself.
One of the most 🤯 things for me is a highly complex topic explained in a way that is beautifully short and simple, such that everyone (and non-experts) can understand.
What are the best examples you’ve encountered of that—specific pictures, paragraphs, videos, blogs, etc?
Imagine trying to compete with YouTube and Netflix at the same time.
That's what Anjali Sud faced when she joined Vimeo 6 years ago.
She quickly felt their strategy was wrong, and brought it up in a meeting.
Today, as CEO, she took Vimeo public.

My favourite formula for writing “features & benefits”
1/ Write down the feature
2/ Ask, “so what?” to find the benefit
3/ Contrast the *old way* with your *new way*
Bluetooth headphones: plays audio
Me: pauses audio for a second, then presses play
Bluetooth headphones: silence
Me: wtf
Bluetooth headphones: you had a good thing going then you got cute and fucked it up, now you have to restart your whole life to fix it
1/ Costco has always fascinated me.
Costco makes essentially $0 in profit from product sales, since it basically sells goods at cost. Instead, it charges a membership fee that is almost 100% margin.
Here are some of my favorite slides from a great overview by @minesafety 👇
Over a month since the release, and @spendeeapp is still so painfully slow I dread every interaction with it. A good reminder that perceived speed is one of the most critical aspects of every design.
.@Adampasick wrote an interesting article that goes behind the curtain of the feature a couple of years ago. Intriguing, though I'm not sure how much of it still stands today.
