UK Society for Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery (CAOSUK), affiliated with The British Orthopaedic Society(BOA), join our surgeons, engineers and therapists
Along with Euro 2020, the CAOS UK Annual conference for June is cancelled, no football or stimulating presentations on emerging tech in orthopaedics. Disappointing we know...we will reschedule in 2021, stay safe! #caos#caosuk#robotics#vr#ar#cas#ortho#orthotwitter#COVID19
Watch back this week's fantastic webinar, brought to you in collaboration with @OR_UK:

“There has been an adaption of surgical robots in spinal surgery.
Robotic surgical skills will inevitably be a valuable attribute of current and aspiring spinal surgeons.”

Robotic-arm assisted total hip #arthroplasty is associated with improved accuracy in restoring the native centre of rotation, better preservation of the combined offset & more precise acetabular component positioning report @uclh surgeons @bjjeditor &co https://t.co/kJLGDJzA9g
This study compares patient-specific (PS) & standard unicompartmental knee arthroplasties with a healthy knee through finite element analysis & finds that contact stress on the lateral compartment in the PS showed closer values to those of a healthy knee https://t.co/86SsPdVLBh
Great meeting. Thoroughly enjoyed discussing the potential of robotics in combination with the flexibility of cemented stems / cups. Also interesting to share ideas about cemented hips with US surgeons with a tradition of uncemented hips. #ideaschanging

Nice to join previous trainers and a room full of clinicians @BMIHealthcare@SmithNephewPLC to discuss tech advances helping us improve hip and knee surgery. Tech in medicine is slow to adopt as it takes time to prove effectiveness and we are not paid on quality, this must change

#navigation in shoulder Arthroplasty allows surgeons to execute their plan to within +/- 3 degrees of perfect on postop CT study. Huge step forward particularly for complex cases. #icses2019
Hot of the press! this months @JournalOfTandO feature on CAOSUK, it’s restructuring and exciting year ahead, including next years scientific congress at The Royal Society of Medicine.
Memmbership open to all healthcare professionals working in the field of orthopaedics
Great end to this years CAOSUK sesssion at the BOA congress, robotics, CT v image free surgery, 3D printed implants and guides, and current research, thanks for attending @BritOrthopaedic#BOA2019#boaac#hip#knee
