The FAA reports that a Bombardier CRJ700 inbound from Wichita, KS, collided with a Sikorsky H-60 helicopter during approach for landing. They’re investigating.

American Airlines has confirmed one of their planes was involved in the incident.

We’re aware of reports that American Eagle flight 5342, operated by PSA, with service from Wichita, Kansas (ICT) to Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA) has been involved in an incident. We will provide information as it becomes available.

BREAKING: Authorities confirm a small plane is down in the Potomac River near Reagan National Airport. All flights are currently grounded as fire boats and multiple agencies search and respond to the scene.
