Hi followers! Wanted to say hi and introduce myself.

I've become more active here on X in the past couple of months after a few years of staying mostly away. I'm choosing to speak up now because I just can't stay quiet with rising antisemitism, rising socialism, and rising communism in the USA.

I had a long career writing and strategizing for major brands, and now I'm shifting focus to advocate for things that are more important to me personally, while still doing freelance writing projects on the side.

I'm a lifelong New Yorker, born and raised, and I come from a family with many legal immigrants. I have 3 girls, I can speak 3 languages, and I once won $300 on Let's Make A Deal. That's it for now.

I was in my parents' house in Brooklyn, getting ready to go into Manhattan for an internship interview (I was in college at the time but had no classes scheduled that day). I was watching the morning news on TV as I was eating breakfast. The TV broadcast went out suddenly (we didn't have cable). I flipped the channel and found the only working one was CBS (they had their transmitters on the top of the Empire State Building). Watched the rest of it happen on live TV.

You have it very wrong. The transplants referred to are typically people who move from other states with this idealistic views of NYC, only to discover it's not reality and then they want to change it so they can live like Sex and the City characters. These people don't have the NY grit.
