When I first met him, out of awe and awkwardness I fiddled with my hair. He slapped my hand away and said 'hero ki tarah Baal mat bana...tu actor hai'!
He didn't flatter you. He didn't tell you what you wanted to hear. He told you what you needed to hear. That was Nana. Straightforward. Rough, honest and had the most beautiful smile.
He always had a strange way of showing affection. He would shout at you first, and then somewhere between the third or fourth insult, you realised you were being hugged. He loved me and I loved him back.
He was a mentor, a teacher, a critic and a friend who beat me and everyone else around him in carrom game after game and relished his victories.
Nana your intensity, laughter , madness and love will always stay with us. I just wish we had time to have more conversations, another argument, another cup of tea and a game of carrom.
You have left a void not only in the world of cinema but in the hearts of all Indians and the world. All I can say is, I will miss you dearly and carry your words in my heart till the end of time....'hero banne ke chakar mein actor mat khona'
May your soul rest in peace Nana and Allah bless you. The Heavens will be blessed to have you... a masterful actor and an unbeatable carrom champion. Love you and miss you dearly!! Too soon my Hero Actor! RIP.
Captain Smit Machchhar, you stood strong when it mattered the most!! It’s not easy to stare adversity in the face and put one’s safety on the line… but you did just that to protect those onboard and showed us what being a Captain entails. A true display of courage and duty. Wishing you a speedy recovery, the country is proud of you…
A 66-yr-old man from Bengal has spent nearly 3 months in holding centres & jail after police picked him up on 'Bangladeshi' charge. His name is on voter rolls since 1982. He cleared SIR in 2002 & 2026.
This is the story of Jalil Akhtar. @anindyahazra96

Mohan Bhagwat is lying through his teeth.
There were no survivors in the 1996 Charkhi Dadri collision. All 349 people aboard the two aircraft were killed, and many bodies were badly charred or mutilated. So whom exactly did his Swayamsevaks "treat"?
One aircraft belonged to Saudi Arabia, while the other belonged to Kazakhstan, which is not an Arab nation.
@VishnuNDTV was among the first journalists to reach the crash site and report from there. No one ever heard of these mysterious Swayamsevaks being present.
Bhagwat has invented survivors, distorted facts and inserted the RSS into a tragedy, all to manufacture a certificate of communal harmony for his organisation.
Even the dead are not spared from the RSS propaganda machine.
Perhaps it’s time to change the name of your page from “Facts” to “Misinformation.”
The area shown in your video is Khan Compound, which falls under Kalyan Rural Assembly Constituency, Ward No. 144, under the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC)- not my constituency.
The MLA Rajesh More, the MP and corporators representing this area are from the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), which is part of the BJP-led coalition. Yet you have chosen to tag me and falsely attribute this area to my constituency.
If you don’t correct this tweet, I will take appropriate legal action against you for publishing false and defamatory claims.
India is a old country but a young nation and like the young everywhere we're impatient. I am young and I too have a dream. - Rajiv Gandhi.
A few years ago, I was having a conversation with an EX-IAS officer and he told me "you should read Rajiv Gandhi, man wanted to solve all the world problems" and so I did some digging and to say I was amazed would be an understatement.
Here are few of his visionary enactments:
1) The Assam accord of 1985 - The one that took place between the govt and the leaders from Assam movement that lasted for 6 long years.
2) The Mizoram accord of 1986 - The one that saw a peaceful transition of power from an insurgent leader to become CM; notably the then Congress CM stepped down to make it happen.
3) The 1987 Indo-Srilanka accord - The only accord between India and Sri Lanka till date in terms of the Tamil rights.
4) Operation cactus of 1988 - The one in which India successfully thwarted the coup attempt in Maldives.
5) Voting rights at the age of 18 - Arguably, the most historic one. The 61st constitutional amendment reduced the voting age from 21 to 18.
There are many more such as the Rajiv-Longwal accord, Ganga action plan, Tripura accord, anti-defection law to name a few.
Basically, between 1985-88, in a span of 3 years, Rajiv's govt had explored almost every avenue of political accommodations available to bring peace and solve problems. The Ex-IAS officer was right, man really wanted to solve all the world problems.
I even have a theory that had Rajiv not been assassinated, BJP wouldn't have formed govt in the late 90s. And, NAM would've further flourished.
Remembering our own respected former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary.
Man saw her, fell in love with her, married her, and together they started their life in India.
It’s been 25 years since he’s been gone, and she’s still here in this country, fighting for the people of India and raised two kids to be good human beings.
On another note, where’s Jasodaben?

I'm a cardiologist.
"Should I take a statin?" is the question I get more than any other.
The honest answer depends almost entirely on one distinction most patients have never had explained to them — and getting it wrong in either direction costs lives or costs years of unnecessary medication.
Here's the complete framework. Save this and bring it to your doctor.
This useless cabinet achieved 187% GDP growth (versus under 100% in the last 12 years), under this cabinet the Rupee was not Asia’s worst currency like today, and our stock market was not the world's second-worst performing stock market. It didn’t shut down 93,000 public schools like your paw paw, maintained petrol at 50–60 INR without ethanol blending despite 100–147 USD crude oil, and preserved a strong RTI and relatively free media. Furthermore, it levied no STT, LTCG, or STCG, enabling middle-class wealth growth and stability. Under its watch, India's per capita was not less than Bangladesh like today, income inequality was not worse than the days of the British Raj like today, and Taiwan did not overtake India in stock market capitalization.
Indian TV media is so compromised & pathetic that we find out about 100+ deaths due to rain & storms in UP from the Russian President.
In no other supposed “democracy” is the media so entirely controlled by the ruling party.
It’s beyond shameful.
Dear Times Now the order is inclusive, stop pushing half-truths to manufacture outrage.
This order is not just about the Hijab. It equally recognises Janivara, Turban, Mangalya, Shivadhara, Rudraksha and other symbols of faith and tradition while continuing the uniform policy.
Stop misleading people for TRPs and division.
Tamil Nadu has chosen.
A new generation. A new voice. A new imagination.
My good wishes to Thiru Vijay - may he fulfil the hopes of the people of Tamil Nadu.
