@joshelman The best PMs are impact-driven and will shine in this new world, as the principles of impact-driven still stand and the tools are getting 10x better
The secret sauce of great PMs is their ability to focus on the most impactful work. They care deeply about how their work impacts customers at scale.
Product management is not about “shipping”, it’s about owning the impact of your work on customers and the company’s priorities
@villi I think that AI changes that, you can empower FDEs in a way that they can scale and make the economics work, you get great real-life insights and close the loop quick for best service
Service-as-a-software is going to eat the service industry’s lunch. Mercor growing to $500m is one example. Harvey AI are also growing rapidly.
These are new experts marketplaces that are either creating new categories, or replacing legacy solutions
@bryce The question is whether the niche company still exists within 3 years. If it doesn’t add value then, there’s some similarity with Pyramid schemes where some players finance other players getting rich
@MartinGTobias 100% agree. For example: in recruiting, it’s not (just) ZipRecruiter and Indeed that need to worry, it’s Manpower, Aerotech, Randstad and other service companies that are going to be in trouble
My job for 4 years was to help employers and job seekers to hire/get hired. Everyone looking for a job right now should know this:
The #1 source for all companies for all industries is referrals. Talk to people you know and worked with, they will find you your next job
Many posts on X say, "I built this automated lead machine for LinkedIn" Many times, this translates into annoying AI comments that deliver 0 value to readers
