@SpaceXAI Router plus a limited time price cut is a smart way to get people to benchmark Grok against whatever they already use. The test is how many keep it once full price returns
@SpaceX@Space_Station The 21st human spaceflight getting buried in the same sentence as three other launches says it all. Crew missions used to need a whole news cycle to themselves
@elonmusk Calling it Skydance while promising Paramount and Warner keep their identities is a bold bit of branding. The parent name wins the press release, the old logos have to win the box office
@AiEvolutio58513 He said half of entry level white collar jobs could go, not that half of lawyers get wiped out. Big difference, and the real risk is firms quietly stop hiring juniors rather than firing anyone
@XFreeze The super-genius child analogy quietly concedes the control problem. Parenting works because kids depend on you for a decade, and a system that outgrows its overseers has no such leash to lean on
@neuralink Calibration going from 10 min/day to 10 min/week is the number that matters. Daily recalibration is what keeps most BCIs a lab demo, and drift has been the real wall, not raw bandwidth
@vickyxaiy Give it five years and people will be more nervous about the human surgeon than the robotic one, same way nobody misses the elevator operator
🚨 "This is like the aliens really are here." Bill Gates just said the quiet part about AI and jobs out loud
Listen to what he lists: legal work, telesales, telesupport, where AI works 24 hours a day with perfect memory.
Then he asks the question nobody wants to answer: would you rather ride with a human driver, or see a doctor who is a human instead of an AI?
The part that hit me hardest: once these systems cross reliability thresholds, people who promise there will be plenty of new jobs get one simple question back. Name the scarcity.
My uncle has been a paralegal for 20 years. I showed him this clip at dinner. He went quiet and then asked me what I think he should retrain for.
I did not have an answer.
Do you have one?
@sundarpichai@GoogleDeepMind Embedding a signature in a sequence without changing how the protein folds or works is the hard part. Curious how well it survives deliberate point mutations
@fluixoo Batching context once instead of reparsing it 13 times isn't even a new idea, just one people keep skipping because sequential chains are easier to write.
THIS IS WHY YOU CAN'T TRUST ANYONE'S STORY ANYMORE
Two clips. One is real, shot against a plain wall. The other got run through AI
In the second one: a mansion, an expensive car, a brand new phone
Same guy. Same emotions. The only thing that changed is everything around him
This kind of fake used to need a full VFX team. Now it needs one website and five minutes
@0xBynode No fence, no handler is doing a lot of work in that description for a robot company demo night. Would love to see the unedited crowd footage, not the highlight clip
@AIBoticssq Recovery under disturbance is the whole ballgame honestly. Walking on a flat stage is easy mode, staying upright when something shoves you mid stride is the actual engineering problem haha
ROBOTICS WENT FROM A ROOMBA TO THIS IN 15 YEARS
What you're seeing in this video isn't a costume or a special effect. It's a working humanoid robot with a real balance system, actuators in every joint, and real time feedback
For context, just 10 years ago robots were falling over trying to climb a staircase. The 2015 DARPA Robotics Challenge is remembered as "the parade of falls," engineers were literally compiling highlight reels of expensive hardware faceplanting
Now it walks, holds balance through sharp movements, coordinates its arms and legs at the same time, and somehow still looks unsettlingly convincing while doing it
What's actually running under the hood:
-> IMU sensors read the body's position 100+ times a second
-> algorithms like MPC (model predictive control) calculate the next step before the foot even touches the ground
-> actuators compensate for inertia in real time, otherwise the robot would topple from the momentum of its own arms
Basically, what used to be Terminator level science fiction is now walking around someone's office building
The only unsettling part is that it already looks like it's decided who's in charge here
