With the growth of agentic development, platforms running untrusted workloads require sandboxing and strict trust boundaries.
Broke down the architecture and primitives behind the new Cribl App Framework today at #CriblCon 26 with Glenn
✨ANNOUNCING FROM #CRIBLCON: Cribl Detect! ✨
It's a new way to SIEM:
💫 Up to 50% less cost
💫 Built-in DPM and AI triage to accelerate incident response
💫 Run it without having to move historical data first

Excited to be talking about our app framework at #CriblCon next week.
We took what was just an idea in January and shipped a full-stack app framework that allows customers to extend our platform to solve their problems

AI makes app dev faster—but reliable platforms still need rigor. At #CriblCon 26, you'll see how trust boundaries, sandboxing + managed backend primitives enable #AI-speed extensibility without sacrificing stability.

@mattpocockuk So far I've had a lot of success with spending my time on the use case, system design, and the code-level contracts. AI will happily build 5k line God classes. You need to handle the abstractions/interfaces yourself
With ai, I'm seeing classes go from non-existent to 4k lines in a matter of months. It just adds, never steps back and abstracts. What engineer can keep the operational reality of this in their head when it blows up? AI needs good abstractions to build on just like humans
#CriblCon 26 is coming up quick!! Here's what you will learn from Cribl experts:
🪄 Operating Cribl as an enterprise platform

Don't design for infinite scale. Design for what your customers actually need. Solve their problems now, not what they may theoretically face in 1-2 years and iterate #SoftwareEngineering#scalability
@alanwill Agreed! I've also seen this happen a lot when the game of telephone in an org structure goes poorly and someone distorts the message. Too many times I see folks treating messages as blind orders instead of understanding the problem and desired outcome
How often has someone presented a solution without a problem?
Whenever something doesn't pass the sniff test, ask, "What problem are we trying to solve?"
It gives you a better understanding of the problems facing the organization, and maybe it kills bad ideas #firstprinciples
Decided to write up a post on how to properly handle backpressure in NodeJS Transform streams to avoid memory growths in your software: https://t.co/5qUjW093z3
@thdxr You'll never be praised for your quality/perf, but you'll always be criticized for it. Building culture around it and some amount of continuous investment is required
Why doesn't @typescript have out of the box support for simple @npmjs packages? You have to define a tsconfig.json for the most basic projects

This is pretty exciting. Seems like it'd be much simpler to use than nodejs vms. I wrote a post a while ago on how we used nodejs vms at Cribl here: https://t.co/CRM1OYC4It
ECMAScript excitement 😉
