This is the first proper and serious statement from the international community (other than those from UN human rights bodies) commensurate with the seriousness of the violations of human rights committed by the Bangladesh government over recent days, given by Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
"In the margins of the ASEAN Regional Forum Ministerial Meeting in Laos on 27 July, I conveyed to the representative of Bangladesh and former Foreign Minister, Dr. A.K. Abdul Momen, MP, my grave concern at the announcement of a “shoot on sight policy” and unlawful killings perpetrated in recent days by the authorities in Bangladesh. I am also deeply concerned by the killings of law enforcement officers, violence, torture, mass arrests and damage to property that have taken place. These acts must be thoroughly investigated and those responsible brought to justice. There must be full accountability for the numerous instances of use of excessive and lethal force by the law enforcement authorities against protesters and others, including journalists and young children. The thousands arrested must receive due process. We will follow closely the actions of the authorities in the context of this crisis and, with the fundamentals of EU-Bangladesh relations in mind, expect all human rights to be fully respected."

#Tumor cells can be tricky and good at evading the #ImmuneSystem, but an exciting new therapy can help target those cells for destruction. “We suspect that this could lead to deeper and longer responses for cancer patients,” UCSF’s Charles Craik says. https://t.co/Ohud409FAP
Most people suck at presenting data.
Instead of telling a story they throw numbers at the audience.
Here are 7 crucial tips to present your data effectively:
Massive status bias in peer review.
534 reviewers randomized to review the same paper revealing the low status, high status, or neither author. 65% reject low status, 23% reject high status.
Amazing work by Juergen Huber and colleagues. #prc9
