“So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” (Matthew 24:44)
Live your life expecting the unexpected!
Job teaches us to live with this eternal perspective…
I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God. (Job 19:25–26).
As believers, we live in hope!
Jesus’ diagnosis of our worship…
“These people honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.“ (Matthew 15:8-9)
Jesus’ prescription for our worship…
“God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24)
Spiritual leadership is more about who we are than by what we do. It is forged in the fire of an authentic and accountable relationship with the triune God and His ekklesia (called-out ones).
Lord, ‘my soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you… you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us… your name alone do we honour’ (Isaiah 26:9,12–13).
The path to freedom…
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:6-7)
“If you want to be of use to God, get rightly related to Jesus Christ and He will make you of use unconsciously every minute you live.” (Oswald Chambers)
