Thread: #1 Africa is home to 600 million people who do not have access to electricity - nearly half its population. Not only does this nation need to build basic infrastucture to provide its people with power, it has options to build a power system cleaner than other markets have
#4 The opportunity is vast at $193 billion to 2030 alone. It was a pleasure supporting the folks at Revego Fund Managers and MOBILIST Global with my consulting colleagues Wood Mackenzie Power & Renewables on this exciting piece of work.

@NotionalGrid aha I knew about the SDAC spanner in the works (as a European platform), hadn't realised TERRE is another spanner. Too many of these uncessary spanners being thrown around!
Feel free to join tomorrow's webinar I'll be hosting with @stempowered on how to Leverage AI to forecast and optimise storage. Clever stuff!

@hannon_matthew Note gas grid is currently being extended. Very much at odds with no gas boilers for new builds from 2025; not the wisest time for expansion (stranded asset?). Better to build out the #electricity grid!
🔋Some more investments in the European Lithium-ion Battery industry. >500GWh annual capacity planned mixing existing producers like @SAMSUNG_SDI or @Tesla but also new comers like @northvolt. EU backed @InfinityLithium will be there to supply Lithium.
Interested in how #gas peakers and #energystorage fare up out to 2040? Please join our webinar Thursday 4th June. Along with our power modelling expert, we'll tell you quite a few things we've learnt about the Europe flexibility landscape.
Is #energystorage the key to unlocking Europe's net-zero targets? https://t.co/4GNCMIISjH
Join us on 4th June at 11 AM BST as we share our findings from our latest study on Europe power system flexibility and energy storage. #energytransition#decarbonization#zerocarbon
In case you missed it in your inbox our @WM_PowerRenew clients can now download our first in a new weekly series summarizing preliminary insights into the pandemic's effects on the energy landscape. (1/4)

Q4 2019 marks the largest-ever quarter for storage deployments across all US market segments, per the latest Energy Storage Monitor report. The FTM market deployed 103.8 MW, while residential and non-residential BTM segments deployed 40+ MW each: https://t.co/BY6cLvDcfq
Good to see France finally opens it's doors to #EnergyStorage this week. 253 MW of storage contracted in capacity mechanism, enough to kick-start the market.

2020 needs to be the year when every country revises emission reduction policy and targets in order to meet #ParisAgreement ambitions. A lot has been done, but it's still not moving the needle!
Thanks @climateactiontr for the context here.
Fancy working on the future of energy systems modelling in @IC_CEP at @imperialcollege London?
I’m looking for a Research Associate to work with amazing colleagues from all over Europe building and testing new models for the European Commission!

Scratching around for #EnergyStorage opportunities in Europe this Christmas? Terna (Italy) is running a consultation for 230 MW sub second response (Fast reserve) to be operational by 2022. 3 to 4 year contracts up for grabs. Roll up!
