This is Thomas, a Yazidi boy.

When Thomas was 11, the Islamic State killed his family and kidnapped him.

The terrorists told him: “You don’t even deserve to convert to Islam. Yazidis are devil worshippers.

You are going to die either way, so you got a choice: go back to your town as a suicide bomber and die quickly, or starve to death.”

He chose the latter. He could never bring himself to harm his own people.

When Thomas was finally rescued, he was severely emaciated and had not eaten anything in a month.

He was one of the few children to survive the genocide committed by ISIS against the Yazidis.
