Imagine being in Loren’s comms team and having to Canva this shit just to have your boss fan the flames of a constitutional crisis lol #jobsthatpaythebills
This is getting ridiculous.
@loren_legarda is trying to start a constitutional crisis all to cling to power with the Duterte senators.
The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (of which she is not a member because she’s NOT a lawyer) already validated the June 3 Senate leadership change.
According to Sen Edu, there were rumors that Alan Peter went to Malacañang to negotiate the impeachment, in exchange for protection for ‘some’ of his colleagues excluding Chiz Escudero. Possibly why Chiz flipped and showed up last minute

Bruh ang daming nangyayari?? Tinutulak si Jonvic? Si Sherwin mag-preside over impeachment? Nagpupuksaan si Maxie and Khianna at ang mga bading?? Patuloy ang pag-ship sa #WinRi ?
Nakaka-overwhelm ang X ang timeline ko hahaha
Lol at the use of GenAI but it’s so beautiful that Korean election coverage OBBs are able to showcase their rapid rise from backwater to a regional power
In the Philippines, election OBBs are stuck with ‘vote for change’ themes because nothing ever changes
@mediatorkundesu I agree. Imagine, when Du30 had supermajority, they could have easily done this to the handful of minority/progressive lawmakers then. It’s a dangerous precedent.
Grabe no, you swoop in and act a hero to save the day, when you’re partly to blame why the Senate even reached this point. Chiz is on full rehabilitation mode for his dying political career.
The other, darker side to this is that IF the Dutertes are indeed ever subdued, the Marcoses will lose no time using the powers of the state to go after the Pinks and liberals, their natural enemy
The last Senate President who got on the wrong side of a Marcos First Lady found himself explaining flood control projects.
She may not be Imelda.
But she’s Liza Araneta-Marcos.
An excellent piece on our bid to win a seat at the UN Security Council. The last time we had a forward-looking foreign policy that punched above its weight was PNoy’s admin.
Duterte’s foul-mouthing of every major ally (including the Pope lol) got us nowhere.
The Philippines isn't just asking for a seat at the table; we’ve earned it through a proven track record of fostering global peace. 🇵🇭🇺🇳
In my latest op-ed, I dive into why Manila is fully prepared for the UN Security Council and what our leadership means for the future of global diplomacy. Read it here: https://t.co/0Sz5rJNolh

Some of the best home cooked meals I've eaten this year: turmeric & langka pastil, sauteed malunggay fruit, veggies from gardens of women, and idc about tinola discourse because city tinola will never rival the aromatic tinola cooked by Lolas in rural areas.
@anthropam Headlines are not meant to belabor a point, they serve to hook and inform readers right away. Your point is best addressed in other formats - perhaps a longer op-ed piece or a vlog. But similarities to the sakura will always be a criteria for newsworthiness 🤷♂️
Some people have never taken a journalism or news writing class and it shows. The newsworthiness of these pink, tropical blooms is that they’re so unusual - and merits a comparison to spring blossoms in East Asia. That’s the hook. It’s not that deep.
@anthropam Not the credentialism as a response 😭 The best hook for this news item is the comparison to a more easily grasped natural phenomena. There’s a reason other similar trees have been called ‘Philippine sakura.’ The news value here is ‘familiarity’ / being ‘bizarre’
The Senate is a joke. If this were any other private company, APC would’ve been fired already. Or at the very least, sanctioned severely for disrupting operations.
If he cannot unite his colleagues, that means he’s no longer effective as their leader. He must step down.
CAYETANO TO MINORITY: 'KAYO 'YUNG NAMEMERSONAL'
Senate President Alan Cayetano holds a livestream on Facebook again following the Senate minority's call for his resignation on Tuesday.
"The issue is not work. The issue is our priority," he said.
The minority issued a joint statement urging Cayetano to step down after the absence of the majority from the plenary sessions for two consecutive days.
