@MarkCHealey Hard to blame Stearns: No 2025 healthy starters ever pitched a complete season. Manaea had, but got hurt in spring training and was a useless in 2025. Senga was NL's best P through mid-June, then hurt and bad. Peterson+Holmes terrific until their 2nd half.

@TalkinMetsNoG @NYPost_Mets If your friends know, your opponent knows. Why telegraph what they're planning? Should they have told Mets fans - and thus Devin Williams' agent - that Mets weren't going to resign Diaz? Mets SHOULD answer questions about whom they've acquired, but not future plans.

@RGoldz26 @Masterflip_ Little difference among the top 20 closers. Diaz best year, Devin his worst, yet only a handful of saves separated them. Diaz 6th highest save % (90), about 80. Career Devin just as good. Rotation should be better, with guys like Peterson/Holmes stretched out. Plus Nolan et al.

@DebbiDebsey0404 @Gonzo777333 @TonyMetroMLB It is a mask...for all the hard work he's put in to become a shoo-in HOFer, whose teams in his 11 seasons have made the playoffs more often than they haven't. With Ohtani playing DH in 2024, Lindor was the most valuable two way player in the league.

@NYM_News Obviously, Stearns doesn't want to sign non-HOF player to five years contracts, which both Diaz and Alonso wanted and which Nimmo's remaining 5 years basically was. Mets'll be better defensively at 1B, 2B, LF PS Devin Williams as good as Diaz.

@StotheOB @GoodFundies Nimmo ranked as one of the worst fielding LF in the league. Both Taylor and McNeil played better LF D. Alonso on D? Literally the worst ranked 1B in the league. Semien won a Gold Glove. Last 3 seasons? 2B rank? 2nd, 4th, 9th.

@Masterflip_ Exactly what they tried in the second half, signing to of the best in the game, both of whom just got big contracts. Hard to blame a guy for doing the right thing even if it doesn't work out when the guys underperform. That said, closers are overrated.
