In 2009, Peter Thiel gave a Ted Talk where he gave his list of top 7 existential disasters.

1. Robots kill humanity—“Skynet.”
2. Pandemic wrecks civilization.
3. Runaway nanotechnology—“gray goo” destroys the planet.
4. Existing technology runs away—nuclear war.
5. Computer-enabled totalitarianism—a one-world government uses computers to control everybody.
6. Global warming wrecks civilization.
7. Nothing happens—technological progress stalls.

The punchline was, according to Thiel, that the real disaster would be #7—nothing happens. That’s why he has gone out of his way to try to make each of 1-6 happen in the 17 years since.

Look at his current activities and rhetoric:
Thiel says Greta Thunberg and the Pope are the Antichrist, and that runaway AI—the singularity—is good. His operatives in the government have destroyed disease prevention at CDC/NIH, plus every regulation they can find to destroy the environment. Thiel is the one who funded the Effective Altruism doomer cult that runs the AI industry. Thiel is the one creating surveillance software being used to round people up in America. Thiel is the one who pushed the authoritarian Russian puppet into the presidency.

Thiel is deliberately trying to kill a huge part of the population, just because he’s bored and says technology is “stagnant.”
