@RubinReport Are you not aware that most of these countries were British or French colonies? It didn't help them develop to the same level. When the colonizers left, they devolved immediately.
@TheTrueToma400@EliasDaler It's ok to have both beautifully designed artistic clothing and an ability to buy a 10$ white t shirt in any store. Let's not get into extremes.
@richgel999 There will be no new games worth playing. Let's just enjoy the massive library of games we already have, which are all now open source and portable to any platform.
@alibiyotik If you are a muslim, maybe you could just leave this terrible religion? Think about it. You don't have that much time on this planet. Live a little and enjoy things, without thinking about some bullshit rules invented 1000 years ago by people who were illiterate
@awesomekling This is the sensible approach to AI. No doomerism, smart planning, with competent engineer in the loop reviewing. Thanks Andreas for your work!
@dhh The good example in favor of this is google drive. It's the preferred suite at my workplace. People don't need vbscript from 1995, they just need something that works well and is fast, and has some minimal functionality they expect.
@dhh Please invest some of the money to make a proper alternative. Libreoffice is terrible, and microsoft is unlikely to cooperate. A fast, lightweight office suite would benefit all linux users
@snafufnord@dhh@ewind_dev Yeah, there are many old projects that would work. But i like the omarchy community and ecosystem, and many of the choices made, like the unified menu.
@snafufnord@dhh@ewind_dev because ubuntu and gnome are garbage. I use KDE and it's a compromise, but it doesn't feel fluent. With all the money they have collected, they could easily build a better lightweight alternative to both.
@dhh@ewind_dev It needs a non-tiling mode, with a traditional taskbar/dock. If you really intend to have a competitor to a traditional OS, make the average user comfortable. Developers are <1% of the already declining desktop market.
@dhh Please try to fix sleep/suspend on laptops. It's a general linux issue and everyone would benefit from it. It's the one thing that windows/mac currently do better...
