@Huskie1970 @vinjkot @On3 @AriWasserman It's a no win with NIL. You don't allow it and certain schools pay anyway giving them an unfair advantage. As for transfer portal I hate it being open. There should be contracts for 2 years and if you leave you should have to sit out for the remainder of the contract.

@Huskie1970 @vinjkot @On3 @AriWasserman I agree NIL is a game changer, but it really had little to do with IU going 27-2 the past 2 years. IU wasn't even top 10 in NIL with zero 5 stars and very few 4 stars. The JMU guys & development were the key factors. Mendoza was really good, but nobody foresaw that type of year.

Second: the only record that matters is IU under Cignetti, which is 27-2. No recruit will care about any history from before Cignetti & his staff. How much will you pay? Can you develop me into an NFL player? When can I get on the field? Are you staying?

@Noles_Boi This doesn't mean as much as it used to. IU the past 2 years has gone 27-2 without a 5 star and maybe 1 or 2 four stars. If you get a coach with an eye for talent and the ability to develop, you'll win. Recruiting services are clueless.
