Thanks to my ace publisher @bhousepress for keeping it real in the paradise that is Jubilee Britain. This book might be for you if you're interested in what @badaude called 'the unsteady pulse of the suppurating British body politic' - and other fun stuff https://t.co/66479gqAyI
@LNER Many thanks for getting back to me. I see the 10.03 from KGX arr Leeds 12.16 is cancelled though, this looks ominous to me... would it have become the 12.45 Leeds-KGX train - i.e. will there be a knock-on cancellation for that service?
@LNER Hi there, how bad is it currently at Leeds, genuinely? Hard to tell from online updates whether it's worth attempting to get the 12.45 to KX that I'm booked on. Is anything at all running leeds-doncaster? Thanks
It’s December 1! To officially kick off the 2024 Short Story Advent Calendar, here’s a story about librarians, patrons, and one unusual musical instrument, from Robin Sloan. https://t.co/Z9wWbZOcqW #ssac2024
ANNOUNCEMENT! The Brutalist Ghost Stories project includes an Arts Council England-funded Emerging Writer Programme, and Confingo is looking to recruit three early stage writers for mentoring and help to contribute to an anthology of short uncanny fiction. https://t.co/3HIYQN30Vu
@carrie_walsh_ Ha ha, it definitely has that vibe. Things will go dark enough soon enough, since "wherever we go, there we are" (people, that is). At least it's Muskless; that's my reason for shifting that way.
Bring along your problem story: the one that never seems to be finished, or gets rejected, or refuses to do what it is told, and practise working through drafts, problem-solving and polishing up with Ruby’s guidance and encouragement. #shortstories#writers#writingcommunity
My @londonlitlab short story Bootcamp course is back! Postponed due to illness but now raring to go, this course is somehow both leisurely (lots of writing/breathing/thinking time) and intense (lots of feedback & food for thought). I'd love to have you🫵https://t.co/CJcfGZwrUa

Can you name contemporary writers who "do" Yorkshire dialect well (i.e. without sounding like the old duffer out of Wuthering Heights)? Even if it's just a hint of dialect.
@lunatejournal Always leave them wanting more! Thanks for everything you've put into the six issues - I've got some idea what it takes. Those six brilliant publications made the world better.
