Each visit to Africa, I get more conviction around the opportunity to invest there. The founders are hungry, the talent is tops and the market gaps are clear. Meeting with a few early stage Fintech / Infra founders this week in Kenya and could not be more pumped for Africa tech to continue to outpace.

(Plus they have giraffes 🦒 in the city!!)

This advice from @bchesky will probably save your company millions of dollars:

"We don't have permission from users to do new things until people love our core service."

Be great at the job that customers hired you to do before chasing the shiny new thing.

I feel bad for Silicon Valley Bank right now.

They have been the biggest capital partner to founders, employees, and investors over the last decade and they’re being completely turned on by all of them.

If SVB goes under it would be detrimental to the startup community

Doug Leone from Sequoia closed a panel yesterday evening I was in the audience for with a fitting quote for founders given state of markets and it’s spot on.

Sorry Indian Americans. It's no longer good enough to be CEO. You have to be prime minister of a former colonizer now. That's the new bar.

Your startup’s goal should be to build a product that 100 people love and can’t live without rather than a product a million people think is just okay.
