A Rugby Euros Comp would be great to see. Every 4 years instead of the 6N/REC:
6 N: 🏴🇫🇷🍀🏴🇮🇹🏴
REC: 🇬🇪🇪🇸🇵🇹🇷🇴🇳🇱🇧🇪🇨🇭🇩🇪
Invitational 2: 🇵🇱🇨🇿
@SnrHuevo It’s why I’d rather put interest on a rugby euro comp every 4 years.
Run it in the middle of the World Cup cycle (2029, 2033 etc) during the summer. Better longterm plan than the Lions, and if 🏴 🏴 🏴 ☘️ want to send weakened teams that’s their choice.
10-16 teams (2x5 or 4x4)
@Paulstormingbok Yes but eager to know who…. I definitely think we should rest the aforementioned players. Seeing how we trashed the Babas last year, I’m wondering how beneficial this game would be for these players. For the fringe boks or uncapped, very important for sure …
I know most fans think Siya, Jesse, DDA, Lood, Eben, Sous, PSDT, Marx, Wiese, Kolbe, Grant should play against Babas but given they are all veterans, played for the Boks 6 months ago, had full seasons/just recovered/are familiar with our systems, should they not be rested/risked?
"I believe he will make his Test debut in the next year or two."... what do you mean TWO YEARS??!?? He needs to get a few games for the Boks this year .. at least off the bench!
Anyone expecting any uncalled bolters to break into the Springboks World Cup squad next year? I’m thinking David Ribbans (even though he said he wants to play for again) or a winger that’s not yet in the squad. But who?
@Slipcatch Hence the 'could'... I see much leadership potential in him as well but still young but when your lock stocks are thin, it should be more urgent bring in more immediate cover over future proofing. Nonetheless, both can happen
Ruben van Heerden called up and Salmaan Moerat released ➡️ that should’ve been the way from the beginning! Anyways why is Norton is the squad when he hasn’t even played pro rugby? Some of these decisions are really jarring considering URC players who are playing well enough
The #Springboks have been forced to make a change to their training squad currently preparing for next weekend's season openers - more here: https://t.co/wtGBHGgViB 🔐

@Slipcatch yup agree and expect a heavily trimmed squad (less than 40) ... if you're available but aren't even called up against Zimbabwe, your test career is more or less a gonner
@Slipcatch I understand the policy is to pick the right players, not always the best, but it's hard not to see players like Muller picked over Henco (very similar style players). - Actually my main gripe....
Hong Kong Rugby obiously pulling away from the rest of Asian rugby. Hong Kong needs to join the Pacific Nations Cup while Japan and Fiji promote to @SanzarTRC

@Tian_priv20 I get it... but when you have players who slog seasons in the URC to even be in the squad let alone play in SA 'A', I think that doesn't sit well. I can see the vision, u21s who've not hit their ceiling with a lot of potential.. but so do players like Henco, Francke, Ruben etc
